Transfluthrin (TFL) is a rapid-acting pyrethroid insecticide, commonly used worldwide, however its overuse and or misuse has been associated with adverse effects on human health. This study was designed to investigate the impact of TFL on fertility and pregnancy in Sprague-Dawley rats exposed orally and by inhalation. In this study, 48 adult Sprague-Dawley rats of 6-8 months age group were randomly selected with equal numbers of males and females.

Quasi-periodic eruptions (QPEs) are luminous bursts of soft X-rays from the nuclei of galaxies, repeating on timescales of hours to weeks. The mechanism behind these rare systems is uncertain, but most theories involve accretion disks around supermassive black holes (SMBHs) undergoing instabilities or interacting with a stellar object in a close orbit. It has been suggested that this disk could be created when the SMBH disrupts a passing star, implying that many QPEs should be preceded by observable tidal disruption events (TDEs).

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate cardiac autonomic modulation using short-term heart rate variability (HRV) and compare it among frailty statuses in older Indian adults.

Methods: A total of 210 subjects aged 60 years and above were recruited into three groups: frail ( = 70), pre-frail ( = 70), and non-frail ( = 70) from the outpatient department of Geriatric Medicine at a tertiary care hospital in India. Frailty status was assessed using the Rockwood frailty index (FI) criteria.

Background Most elderly patients suffer from multiple diseases and are on multiple drugs for treatment. Polypharmacy in the elderly, physiological changes with old age, changes in the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic effects of many drugs, and newer drug prescription trends for diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular disease make drug prescribing in the elderly more difficult. There are many chances of drug-drug interactions with easily available over-the-counter (OTC) medications.

Objective: To estimate frailty prevalence and its relationship with the socio-economic and regional factors and health care outcomes.

Methods: In this study, participants from the harmonized Diagnostic Assessment of Dementia for the Longitudinal Aging Study in India (LASI-DAD) were included. The frailty index (FI) was calculated using a 32-variable deficit model, with a value of ≥ 25% considered as frail.
