Introduction: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is present in a latent state in 70-90% of the immunocompetent population, and its reactivation might be triggered by inflammatory conditions such as post-COVID multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) or by immunosuppression induced by steroids. The aim of this paper was to highlight the unexpected complications associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection that require a complex clinical approach for accurate diagnosis.

Introduction: Ischemic stroke is an extremely rare disorder in children. The timely diagnosis is essential for the outcome of these children, but unfortunately, delays in diagnosis occur frequently.

Patient Concerns: We report the case of a 7-month-old infant admitted in our clinic for limited movements of the superior and inferior right limbs whose onset was 27 hours before with repeated clonic movements of the right hand associated with the same manifestations in the right oral commissure lasting approximately 10 seconds.

One of the major causes leading to increased antibiotic resistance is excess antimicrobial consumption. We have analysed the correlation between antibiotic use and frequency of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) strains in the general intensive care unit of a university hospital Antibiotic use was expressed as number DDD (daily defined doses)/100 occupied hospital bed-days (BD). CRPA incidence rates were determined by number of unique isolates reported to 100,000 BD.
