Comparison of two sucralfate dosages (2 g twice a day versus 1 g four times a day) in duodenal ulcer healing.

The effects of two dosage regimens of sucralfate, 2 g twice a day (one-half hour before breakfast and at night) and 1 g four times a day (one-half hour before meals and at night), on ulcer healing in 80 patients with endoscopically proved duodenal ulcer were compared. The study was single-blind and endoscopically controlled. Endoscopy was performed after four weeks and, if complete healing was not achieved, after an additional four weeks.
