Background: Infliximab selectively targets recently activated effector cells and, as an induction agent, might enable the safe elimination of mycophenolate from maintenance immunosuppression in kidney transplantation.
Methods: This is a phase II international multicenter open-label single-arm confidence interval (CI)-based clinical trial of the BIO-DrIM EU consortium aimed at assessing the efficacy and safety of rabbit antithymocyte globulin and infliximab induction in kidney transplantation. Sixty-seven primary kidney transplant recipients at low risk (panel-reactive antibodies <20%, no donor-specific antibodies [DSA]) received rabbit antithymocyte globulin (2 × 1.
The development of enhanced processes for filtration is one solution for stopping the increasing freshwater and sea pollution caused by microplastic and microfibers. Major contributors to micro-X pollution are domestic devices such as washing machines, which also hold a high technical potential for separating problematic soils from waste water during cleaning cycles. The focus of the present paper are the biomimetic development of a novel concept for filtration and removal of particles such as microfibers in conventional washing machines.

Transplant recipients are heterogeneous regarding their immunological memory and primary alloimmune susceptibility. This biomarker-guided trial investigated whether in low immunological-risk kidney transplants without pretransplant DSA and donor-specific T cells assessed by a standardized IFN-γ ELISPOT, low immunosuppression (LI) with tacrolimus monotherapy would be non-inferior regarding 6-month BPAR than tacrolimus-based standard of care (SOC).

The growth of the plant cuticle and its underlying cells possibly results in changes in the morphology of cuticular ridges and may also affect their function. We present spatial and temporal patterns in cuticular ridge development on the leaf surfaces of the model plant, .

Two cycles of scaffold morphing of a high-throughput biochemical screening hit resulted in the discovery of MLT-231, which enabled the successful pharmacological validation of MALT1 allosteric inhibition in preclinical models of humoral immune responses and B-cell lymphomas. Herein, we report the structural activity relationships (SARs) and analysis of the physicochemical properties of a pyrazolopyrimidine-derived compound series.
