Case report of a 65-year-old man with biatrial metastatic localisation from poorly differentiated cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.

We report the case of an immunocompetent 65-year-old man affected by cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) with lung and biatrial metastatic localisation. In May 2018, the patient underwent lower limb amputation due to the finding of a large ulceration which upon biopsy was found to be a poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), ulcerated, full-thickness infiltrating from the skin to the underlying bone tissue. After 1 month, a radiological restaging found multiple pulmonary localisations and a right-atrial metastatic localisation.

Diagnosis of renovascular disease by extra- and intrarenal Doppler parameters.

It is still a matter of debate as to which parameters should be used for noninvasive diagnosis of renovascular disease by renal Doppler sonography (RDS). The accuracy of RDS in the detection of renal artery stenosis (RAS) was tested in 95 consecutive, moderate to severe hypertensive patients (I-II World Health Organization [WHO] stages). Reno-aortic ratio (RAR) for peak systolic velocity (PSV) was also calculated to assist in the diagnosis of significant (>50%) RAS.

Ovarian varicocele: ultrasonic and phlebographic evaluation.

The aim of this work is to suggest a new diagnostic approach to the "female varicocele syndrome" which utilizes transvaginal ultrasonography. The presence of circular or linear anechogenic structures with a diameter greater than 5 mm, which were found in transverse and oblique sections of the lateral fornices, was indicative of pelvic varices. The vascular nature of these structures was confirmed with the Valsalva's maneuver and in the upright position.
