Background: Moist wound treatment improves healing of skin graft donor site wounds. Microbial colonised wounds represent an increased risk of wound infection; while antimicrobially active, topical antiseptics may impair epithelialization.
Objectives: The aim of this prospective randomised controlled clinical trial was to examine the influence of an Octenidine-dihydrochloride (OCT) hydrogel on bacterial colonisation and epithelialization of skin graft donor sites.

The purpose of this study was to examine potential prophylactic effects of a coarse feed structure and/or potassium diformate (KDF as feed additive) addition to diets on the microflora of the digestive tract in reared piglets experimentally infected with Salmonella Derby. The results show that coarse grinding as well as KDF addition are able to influence positively the intestinal flora and are capable to reduce Salmonella excretion of infected piglets. Coarse grinding of main ingredients (e.

Therefore, susceptibility testing of clinical isolates is an important service to the swine practitioner. This study compares the established agar dilution procedure for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of this fastidious anaerobe to the broth microdilution test newly developed [Anim.
