Introduction: Radiation dose measurement is an essential part of radiotherapy to verify the correct delivery of doses to patients and ensure patient safety. Recent advancements in radiotherapy technology have highlighted the need for fast and precise dosimeters. Technologies like FLASH radiotherapy and magnetic-resonance linear accelerators (MR-LINAC) demand dosimeters that can meet their unique requirements.

Highly sensitive, simple and multiplex detection capabilities are key criteria of point-of-care (POC) diagnosis in clinical samples. Here, a simple and highly sensitive multi-analyte detection technique is proposed by using photonic crystal fiber (PCF) based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor that employs both internal and external sensing approaches. The proposed sensor can detect two different analytes simultaneously by the internal and external plasmonic micro-channels.

The proposed fiber is fabricated using the conventional stack-and-draw method. The polarization filter properties of the proposed CFPCF are investigated numerically by considering the cross-sectional scanning electron microscopy image of the fabricated CFPCF.

The INTRABEAM system with spherical applicators, one of a number of recent electronic brachytherapy sources designed for intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), presents a representative challenging dosimetry situation, with a low keV photon beam and a desired rapid dose-rate fall-off close-up to the applicator surface. In this study, using the INTRABEAM system, investigations were made into the potential application of GDSF TLDs for in vivo IORT dosimetry.
