Health Literacy in Africa-A Scoping Review of Scientific Publications.

Africa's health landscape is rapidly changing, requiring new solutions such as a focus on health literacy. However, there is currently a limited overview of the development and application of health literacy in African countries and societies. This scoping review aims to analyze scientific publications on health literacy in Africa with regards to research approaches, historical developments, geographic origins, target populations and settings, and topical interests.

Prevalence of diarrhea and its associated factors among children under five years in Awi Zone, Northwest Ethiopia.

Background: Globally, diarrhea continues to be the leading cause of morbidity and mortality for children under five, with an annual rate of 149 million cases of illness and 760,000 deaths. This study aimed to assess prevalence and contributing factors of diarrhea among children under-five years in Awi Zone, Northwest Ethiopia.

Methods: A community based cross-sectional study was conducted on 1387 participants from February to June 2023.

Evaluation of the quality of physiotherapy service in university of Gondar comprehensive specialized hospital, northwest Ethiopia: A mixed method evaluation.

Background: Currently, the number of people with physical disability and impairment is increasing significantly in Ethiopia, especially in the northern part. In that regard, the Ethiopian government has been providing physical rehabilitation services to recover patients. However, due to the widespread problem of healthcare service and the increase in patients seeking physiotherapy service, the quality of the service might be compromised, and the evidence is limited.

Therapeutic efficacy of artemether-lumefantrine in the treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in Arba Minch Zuria District, Gamo Zone, Southwest Ethiopia.

Background: Artemether-lumefantrine (AL) has been the primary anti-malarial drug used to treat uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in Ethiopia since 2004. However, there have been recent reports of AL resistance mutations in different African countries, including Ethiopia. This is concerning and requires periodic monitoring of anti-malarial drug resistance.
