Biodegradable polymers and bioceramics give rise to composite structures that serve as scaffolds to promote tissue regeneration. The current research explores the preparation of biodegradable filaments for additive manufacturing. Bioresorbable segmented poly(ester urethanes) (SPEUs) are easily printable elastomers but lack bioactivity and present low elastic modulus, making them unsuitable for applications such as bone tissue engineering.

Species distribution modeling (SDM) is an essential tool in ecology and conservation for predicting species distributions based on species presence/absence data and environmental variables. The present study aimed to understand the distribution pattern and habitat suitability of under current and future climate change scenarios (2050 and 2070) using and tools. The study also intended to identify key environmental predictors of distribution.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on improving community understanding and practices regarding neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) through tailored social and behavior change communication (SBCC) integrated into mass drug administration (MDA) efforts in rural Ethiopia.
  • A community-based evaluation showed that 88.8% of participants were exposed to the SBCC intervention, which significantly enhanced knowledge and preventive practices, especially for Onchocerciasis (OC) compared to Soil-transmitted helminthes (STH).
  • The findings highlight that educational level and marital status influenced the effectiveness of the intervention, indicating a need for localized strategies in future public health campaigns to combat NTDs.

Introduction: Cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) is a leading cause of death following heart transplant. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a highly potent vasoconstrictor peptide derived from the vascular endothelium with multiple biological actions known to be relevant for CAV. We assessed the trans-myocardial gradient (TMG: coronary sinus minus coronary artery concentration: negative = extraction, positive = secretion) of ET-1 in heart transplant patients to determine correlations with angiographic, Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) features of CAV.

Background: Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) has been associated with hepatic and extrahepatic malignancies. Limited studies have shown an association between colorectal adenomas and HCV populations.

Aim: To study the prevalence of colorectal adenomas in patients with HCV compared to the general population and to evaluate if it is an independent risk factor for colorectal adenomas.
