Cardiac Myeloid Sarcoma: Review of Literature.

Granulocytic Sarcomas (GS) also called as Myeloid Sarcomas (MS) or chloromas are the representatives of extramedullary infiltrates of immature myeloid cells including myeloblasts, promyelocytes and myelocytes. Primary cardiac malignancies per se are rare and infiltration of cardiac muscles by secondary malignant cells is also an uncommon finding. Out of these cardiac tumors, contribution of Cardiac Myeloid Sarcoma (CMS) is even more smaller thereby limiting our knowledge about this rare entity.

Management of dental complications in a child with rhabdomyosarcoma.

Radiotherapy treatment options can cause adverse dental sequelae, including xerostomia, dental radiation caries, abnormal tooth development, and osteoradionecrosis (ORN). Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy can be used prophylactically or therapeutically to treat or reduce the risk of ORN. The purpose of this paper was to describe a case involving a 5-year-old male with rhabdomyosarcoma of the left temporal fossa and a history of radiation therapy who presented with gross radiation caries and xerostomia.

3q26 amplification is an effective negative triage test for LSIL: a historical prospective study.

Background: Women with low grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL) at cervical cancer screening are currently referred for further diagnostic work up despite 80% having no precancerous lesion. The primary purpose of this study is to measure the test characteristics of 3q26 chromosome gain (3q26 gain) as a host marker of carcinogenesis in women with LSIL. A negative triage test may allow these women to be followed by cytology alone without immediate referral to colposcopy.
