The experiments on 45 inbred male and female rats with alloxan diabetes have shown that microcrystalline cellulose at a dose of 3 g/day received per os beginning from day 15 to day 42 after alloxan administration stabilizes the animals' body mass, reduces the level of glycemia and glycosylated hemoglobin. A parallel reduction of triglyceride and total cholesterol levels and increase in plasma phospholipid content, compared to the control, are observed, as well as a considerable hypocoagulation shift in the blood aggregation system.
