Attitudes on data reuse among internal medicine residents.

Background: NYU Langone Health offers a collaborative research block for PGY3 Primary Care residents that employs a secondary data analysis methodology. As discussions of data reuse and secondary data analysis have grown in the data library literature, we sought to understand what attitudes internal medicine residents at a large urban academic medical center had around secondary data analysis. This case report describes a novel survey on resident attitudes around data sharing.

Engaging health sciences librarians on data ethics: case study on a pilot curriculum.

Background: Ethical decision-making regarding data collection, visualization and communication is of growing importance to librarians. Data ethics training opportunities for librarians, however, are uncommon. To fill this gap, librarians at an academic medical center developed a pilot data ethics curriculum for librarians across the US and Canada.

Thermal inactivation of Salmonella during hard and soft cookies baking process.

This study validated a simulated commercial baking processes for hard and soft cookies to control Salmonella, and determined D- and z-values of 7-serotype Salmonella (Newport, Senftenberg, Tennessee, Typhimurium, and three isolates from dry pet food) cocktail in cookie doughs. Flexed radiographic angles for determination of atlantoaxial instability in dogs.

Objective: To determine a flexed position for radiographic diagnosis of atlantoaxial instability (AAI) and to identify radiographic measurement cutoffs to differentiate affected dogs from neurologically healthy toy breeds.

Study Design: Retrospective case series and prospective case controls.

Animals: Thirty-nine client-owned toy breed dogs in which AAI had been diagnosed and 20 neurologically healthy client-owned toy breed dogs.
