Hemagglutinin inducing polyagglutination of erythrocytes in the presence of the group blood sera was isolated from the supernatant of the culture fluid of Streptomyces badius 0626 by precipitation with ammonium sulfate and subsequent chromatography on Sephadex. Hemagglutinin proved to be a protein containing no lipid or carbohydrate components and possessing no bacterioagglutinating ability. Examination of the culture fluid supernatants of 150 cultures did not reveal any strains definitely exhibiting the transformation capability for human blood groups.

Modification caused a decrease of the affinity of both enzymes for proteinase inhibitors from the blood. The inhibition constant for terrylytin was increased 3-4-fold, that for trypsin - by 2 or 3 orders.

In a dose of 200 mg/kg levorin lowered the cholesterin blood levels in the rats, inhibited the testosterone-induced increase in RNA concentration in the ventral and dorsal prostate and the seminal vesicles and to a less extent suppressed the growth of the accessory sexual glands. However, the antiandrogenic effect was observed with the use of levorin in the dose producing a pronounced toxic action evident from death of a part of the animals and a marked decrease in the animal body weight.

The oral use of the enzymes or their introduction directly into the duodenum simultaneously or 30 minutes before the antibiotic administration did not increase the morphocycline and streptomycin levels in the biosubstrates tested. A tendency to a decrease in the serum and organ levels of the antibiotics in animals when used orally in combination with the enzymes was noted.

Imbrimycin was diluted with flagosol for decreasing its local irritating effect on the mucosa of the eye conjunctiva and vagina of rabbits. Administration of imbrimycin suspension to albino rats in doses of 10 and 50 mg/kg for 14 days had no effect on the body weight, liver antitoxic function and pathomorphological indices.
