The authors present the results of the tests of an adsorption unit model for a renal dialyzer comprising ligand-metabolic material. The solution is effectively purified of urine, ammonium, creatinine, uric acid, sulphates and phosphates. Hydrodynamic properties of the unit were investigated.

Hemofiltration efficacy was assessed in 14 patients with acute renal insufficiency. Purification quality was controlled by the balance of urea as a marker of low molecular mass substances. Ten patients survived.

The authors compared 2 methods of apheresis: plasmapheresis (PA) and lymphocytoplasmapheresis (LPA) in 24 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Both methods were shown to produce a positive effect on a course of rheumatoid process decreasing clinical and laboratory parameters of its activity, improving articular function. Under LPA influence the production of autoantibodies by B-lymphocytes was significantly lowered.
