In this work, three types of benzenedialdehydes (1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-BDAs) were used to prepare BDA-crosslinked gelatin nanoparticles and the 1,2-BDA-crosslinked gelatin nanoparticle was explored to stabilize fish oil-loaded Pickering emulsions. The nanoparticle preparation was dependent on both pH and crosslinker types. 1,2-BDA and preparation pH of 12.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explored how different body parts of silver carp (skin, scale, fin, head, and bone) affect the properties of gelatins extracted from them.
  • Results showed that skin and scale gelatins have better water-holding, fat-binding capacities, and overall gel strength compared to gelatins from fins and bones.
  • The findings are significant for understanding how these tissue sources can influence gelatin's use in food products, as gelatins vary in their ability to stabilize emulsions and their physical characteristics.

Article Synopsis
  • Adenomatoid tumors are rare, benign tumors in the reproductive tract, originating from mesenchymal tissue, making diagnosis challenging.
  • A case study involved a patient whose previously diagnosed uterine fibroid significantly increased in size over a year, leading to further imaging that suggested a borderline tumor.
  • Combining ultrasound and MRI can greatly enhance the accuracy of diagnosing uterine adenomatoid tumors, and the article highlights key imaging features for clinicians.

Soybean is an important plant source of protein worldwide. Increasing demands for soybean can be met by improving the quality of its seed protein. In this study, GmCG-1, which encodes the β-conglycinin α' subunit, was identified via combined genome-wide association study and transcriptome analysis.
