Clinical and microbiological findings led the authors to the conclusion that antibacterial drugs rovamycin and amox-clav are active against ENT infection and inflammation. The trial included 69 and 42 patients given rovamycin and amox-clav, respectively.

The immunization of mice by sheep erythrocytes increased the inorganic pyrophosphatase activity of the spleen. The in vivo administration of bisphosphonates (40 mg per 1 g of mass), which are structural analogs of inorganic pyrophosphate (methylene bisphosphonic acid--MBPA, hydroxyethylidene bisphosphonic acid--HEBPA and aminomethylene bisphosphonic acid--AMBPA), inhibited the inorganic pyrophosphatase activity only by MBPA in the thymus and spleen but not in liver.

It is shown that 100 and 300 M of periodate cause a slight enhancement of the sedimentation coefficient which is a result of the higher protein density. However high concentrations (2000 M) of periodate decrease sedimentation coefficient considerably and disturb the protein structure homogeneity.
