Background: The long-term survival prognosis of patients with high-grade (Hunt-Hess grade IV-V or World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies grade IV-V) aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is generally poor, and the association between endovascular treatment timing and the prognosis of high-grade aSAH has not been explored in depth. This retrospective cohort study aimed to determine whether endovascular treatment within 24 h of high-grade aSAH is associated with a better prognosis.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of patients with high-grade aSAH who were admitted to our institution between January 2018 and January 2021.

Objective To investigate the effect of circular RNA homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 3 (circHIPK3) on the proliferation and metastasis of glioma cells via sponging miR-124-3p. Methods T98G cells were transfected with circHIPK3 short hairpin RNA (sh-circHIPK3), pcDNA3.1-circHIPK3, miR-124-3p mimics or pcDNA3.

Tbx2 is a cancer-related protein that was found to be overexpressed in several human malignancies. The present study aims to investigate the clinical significance and biological role of Tbx2 in human astrocytoma. We examined its protein expression in 102 cases of astrocytoma tissues using immunohistochemical staining.

Girdin, an actin‑binding protein, is associated with cell migration and is expressed at high levels in glioma cells. However, the association between girdin and the development of glioma remains to be elucidated. In the present study, short‑hairpin RNA technology was used to silence the gene expression of girdin.

Percutaneous microballoon compression of the trigeminal ganglion is a brand new operative technique for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. However, it is unclear how the procedure mediates pain relief, and there are no standardized criteria, such as compression pressure, compression time or balloon shape, for the procedure. In this study, percutaneous microballoon compression was performed on the rabbit trigeminal ganglion at a mean inflation pressure of 1,005 ± 150 mmHg for 2 or 5 minutes.

Background: Glioma is the most common intracranial tumor and has a poor patient prognosis. The presence of brain tumor stem cells was gradually being understood and recognized, which might be beneficial for the treatment of glioma.

Objective: To use bibliometric indexes to track study focuses on glioma stem cell, and to investigate the relationships among geographic origin, impact factors, and highly cited articles indexed in Web of Science.

Sperm-associated antigen 9 (SPAG9) is a recently characterized oncoprotein involved in the progression of several human malignancies. The present study aims to investigate the expression pattern and biological roles of SPAG9 protein in human astrocytoma. SPAG9 expression was analyzed in 105 astrocytoma specimens by immunohistochemistry.
