Identifying plantation lines in aerial images of agricultural landscapes is re-quired for many automatic farming processes. Deep learning-based networks are among the most prominent methods to learn such patterns and extract this type of information from diverse imagery conditions. However, even state-of-the-art methods may stumble in complex plantation patterns.

However, the critical initial period of such an event, usually spanning the first 100 h, can be characterized by a scarcity of information, potentially leading to delays in mitigating strategies. In response, a research group utilized computer simulations to generate solid, conservative analytical details that can aid decision-making and guide the prioritization of initial care based on variables such as age, sex, location, and local atmospheric stability conditions.

We sought to clarify the frequency of TD among an institutionalized elderly population with a controlled dietary intake and to identify possible factors related to TD.
Method: We undertook a cross-sectional study of residents in three nursing homes for the elderly as of June 2020.
Accurately mapping individual tree species in densely forested environments is crucial to forest inventory. When considering only RGB images, this is a challenging task for many automatic photogrammetry processes. The main reason for that is the spectral similarity between species in RGB scenes, which can be a hindrance for most automatic methods.

Subjects/methods: In this retrospective descriptive study, we investigated referred cancer patients who were diagnosed with delirium by a psycho-oncologist to clarify the proportion of TD, the therapeutic effect of thiamine administration, and the factors involved in its onset.
Although there have been recent reports of nonalcoholic thiamine deficiency (TD), no association has been reported between the exacerbation of the psychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease patient and TD. An 89-year-old woman with dementia visited our hospital because of acute deterioration in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Her medical history revealed a decrease in oral food intake lasting more than 2 weeks, so that TD was suspected and abnormal behavior improved significantly after thiamine administration.

He had been treated with radiation and epirubicin for hepatocellular carcinoma, and with docetaxel and pembrolizumab for lung adenocarcinoma. Bone marrow smears exhibited markedly increased promyelocytes, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) study demonstrated chimeric fusion genes of .

Objective: Thiamine deficiency (TD) is recognized in various kinds of disease with associated loss of appetite including cancer. However, it has not been recognized to date in bereaved partners after spousal loss from cancer.
Method: From a series of bereaved partners who lost a spouse to cancer, we report on those who developed TD after bereavement.
Composite lymphoma (CL) is defined as the occurrence of two distinct types of lymphoma within the same patient. Most cases of CL involve Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas or two distinct types of B-cell lymphomas; true CL is a composite B-cell and T-cell lymphoma, and is rare. We herein report a case involving concurrent extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal-type and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, which has not been previously reported.

Application of the international scale (IS) for the quantification of major BCR-ABL1 mRNA has been recommended in several sets of guidelines, including those of the European LeukemiaNet. The aim of this study was to clarify the efficacy of digital PCR technology for the IS of BCR-ABL1 mRNA in the patients with CML by comparing with real-time PCR.

Method: From a series of cancer patient caregivers, we reported an aged family caregiver who developed TD while caring for the cancer patient.
Result: The caregiver was a 90-year-old male.
Objective: Wernicke encephalopathy (WE) is a neuropsychiatric disorder caused by thiamine deficiency, and is sometimes overlooked because of the diversity of clinical symptoms.
Method: From a series of WE patients with cancer, we report a lung cancer patient who developed WE, the main symptom of which was agitation.ResultA 50-year-old woman with lung cancer was referred to our psycho-oncology clinic because of agitation lasting for three days.
Background: Obesity is strongly associated to insulin resistance, inflammation, and elevated plasma free fatty acids, but the mechanisms behind this association are not fully comprehended. Evidences suggest that endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress may play a role in this complex pathophysiology. The aim of the present study was to investigate the involvement of inflammation and ER stress in the modulation of glucose transporter GLUT4, encoded by Slc2a4 gene, in L6 skeletal muscle cells.

Therefore, thiamine deficiency (TD) can occur in any condition of unbalanced nutrition. If TD is left untreated, it causes the neuropsychiatric disorder Wernicke encephalopathy (WE).

However, very little is known about the molecular pathways involved in osteocalcin improved-insulin resistance. The present study aimed to investigate the mechanisms of action of osteocalcin on insulin resistance and inflammation in obese mice and 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Local tissue inflammation, by nuclear factor-κB (NFκB)-mediated pathway, has been related to Slc2a4 repression; a mechanism that could be modulated by statins. Using a model of obesity with insulin resistance, this study investigated whether (1) inflammatory markers and Slc2a4 expression are altered; (2) atorvastatin has beneficial effects on inflammation and Slc2a4 expression; and (3) inhibitor of NFκB (IKK)/NFκB pathway is involved in subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT).

We investigated the effect of OA and LA on the Slc2a4/GLUT4 expression in L6 muscle cells; as well as potential transcriptional regulators. OA and LA (50-400 µM) decreased the Slc2a4/GLUT4 expression in a dose-dependent way (maximum of ~50%, P < 0.
