Abnormal static and dynamic functional network connectivity in stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Objective: Many studies have explored the neural mechanisms of cognitive impairment in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients using the functional MRI. However, the dynamic properties of brain functional networks are still unclear. The purpose of this study was to explore the changes in dynamic functional network attributes and their relationship with cognitive impairment in stable COPD patients.

Comparative ultrastructure analysis of radiation-induced radioresistant laryngeal cancer hep-2 cell line.

Radioresistance is one of the main reasons for the failure of radiotherapy in laryngeal cancer. However, the mechanisms of radioresistance of tumor cells have remained elusive. This study was conducted to identify the ultrastructural changes of radiation-induced radioresistant laryngeal cancer hep-2 cell line.

Matrix metalloproteinase-9 overexpression is closely related to poor prognosis in patients with colon cancer.

Background: Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) is an important member of the matrix metalloproteinase family and is considered to be involved in the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. This study analyzed the expression of MMP-9 in colon cancer patients and the relationship between this expression and clinicopathological features and survival.

Methods: We immunohistochemically investigated 68 specimens of colon cancer tissues and corresponding distal normal mucosa tissues using MMP-9 antibody.
