Background: Anaphylaxis is an emergency that must be correctly recognized and treated by every health care professional. With the update of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) criteria in 2020, differences between the European Academy of Allergy and Immunology (EAACI)/The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) and WAO criteria have come to the fore.

Objective: The aim of our study is to compare the effectiveness of these 2 criteria in diagnosing anaphylaxis in pediatric patients.

Fruit allergy usually presents with mild-to-moderate symptoms but serious systemic reactions, anaphylaxis, may also occur. This study aimed to examine the clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with fruit allergy and fruit-induced anaphylaxis. Patients diagnosed with fruit allergy at Dışkapı Hematology and Oncology Hospital and Bilkent City Hospital between January 2017 and January 2023 were included in the study.

Introduction: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are frequently used in the pediatric age group as pain relievers, antipyretics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Since NSAIDs are used in many medical conditions, there is a need for alternative NSAIDs to be used safely in people with hypersensitivity reactions. Selective and partially selective COX-2 inhibitors and weak COX-1 inhibitors are generally used as safe alternative drugs.
