Article Synopsis
  • The research focused on using Eudragit S100 and sodium alginate as carriers for tenofovir disoproxil fumarate in the female genital tract, evaluating their effectiveness in drug delivery.
  • The study produced nanoparticles using specific methods, confirmed their stable and favorable interactions through various analyses, and demonstrated that the optimal formulation could release 72% of the drug over 96 hours.
  • Cytotoxicity tests showed that the TDF-loaded nanoparticles were safe for vaginal epithelial cells, suggesting their potential for long-term use as a microbicide for HIV patients.
