Papillary cystadenocarcinoma is an uncommon disease with low-grade histological and clinical features. Although the tumor has the potential to produce regional lymph node metastasis, there have been no reports of cases with distant metastasis. We describe a case of papillary cystadenocarcinoma arising from the maxilla that developed pulmonary metastasis 3 years after radical surgery of the primary tumor and regional lymph node.

Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between oral Candida mannan concentrations and symptoms/signs of ill health and the immune status and also to examine whether health/the immune status may be evaluated based on oral Candida mannan concentrations.
Patients And Methods: The health conditions of 25 healthy individuals and 10 cancer patients receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy were assessed using a questionnaire and oral rinse solutions collected on consecutive days.
The relationship between dental diseases and the prevalence of digestive system cancers remains unclear. The aim of the present study was to examine the prevalence of dental diseases in patients treated for digestive system cancers. The medical and dental records of patients treated for digestive system cancers were retrospectively reviewed, and the results obtained (decayed/filled/missing teeth [DMFT] indices and community periodontal index [CPI] codes) were compared with data from the national survey of dental diseases in order to investigate the relationship between oral health and digestive system cancers.

The aim of the present study was to investigate whether a relationship exists between the quantity of oral Candida and the systemic condition/diseases of the host.
Patients And Methods: The cross-sectional relationship between Candida mannan concentrations and health check-up results was analyzed in consideration of local conditions that influence the prevalence of oral Candida.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the treatment outcomes and prognostic factors of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) in Japanese patients.
Patients And Methods: Among 409 cases, treatment outcomes and prognostic factors were investigated in 275 patients. In statistical analyses, the 1-year cumulative curative rate was calculated with the Kaplan-Meier method, and significance was examined with the Wilcoxon test.
Background: Liposarcoma has been subclassified histologically into well-differentiated, myxoid, pleomorphic, and dedifferentiated types. The dedifferentiated type generally shows poorer prognosis than the well-differentiated type. Because of its rarity, the clinicopathological features and clinical outcomes of primary mediastinal dedifferentiated liposarcoma remain unclear.

This multicenter, randomized control trial aimed to investigate the effectiveness of topical application of tetracycline ointment for prevention of surgical site infection (SSI) associated with major oral cancer surgery.
Methods: One hundred seventeen patients who underwent oral cancer resection combined with neck dissection, flap reconstruction, and tracheotomy were divided randomly into an intervention group (n = 56) and a control group (n = 61).
Objectives: Healthy life expectancy, an extension of the concept of life expectancy, is a summary measure of population health that takes into account the mortality and morbidity of a population. The aim of the present study was to retrospectively analyze the self-reliance survival times of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients.
Materials And Methods: One hundred and twelve patients aged 75years or older with primary OSCC were included and examined at Shinshu University Hospital.
Background: The purpose of this retrospective study was to accumulate data regarding the quality of postoperative neurosensory function after inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) transposition for dental implant placement.
Methods: The study included seven consecutive patients who underwent IAN transposition surgery for the insertion of a dental implant into the atrophic posterior mandible. Of these, six patients (seven sides) were available for long-term assessment of postoperative IAN function.
