Background: The number of hemodialysis (HD) patients is increasing worldwide, and they are at a higher risk of cancer than the general population. Because HD patients are more likely to have inflammation, radiotherapy (RT)-induced adverse effects (AEs) are theoretically expected to be worse for HD patients. Since only a few reports have been published on this subject, we aimed to evaluate the tolerability of RT in HD patients.

However, when they are radiolucent, a plain abdominal radiograph has been reported to be useless. As radiolucent colorectal foreign bodies appear as radiolucent artificial contours or air-trapped materials in the pelvis, almost always the diagnosis itself can be made by careful evaluation of plain abdominal radiographs.

It is due to ischemia induced by phlebosclerosis in the branches of the superior mesenteric vein that disturb venous return from the colon. The clinical course is different from that of the more common type of ischemic colitis caused by arterial disease.

BAI was performed using CDDP (40-50 mg/m2) + CPT-11 (40-50 mg/m2). The therapeutic effects, side effects, a reduction of the symptoms and prognosis were examined.

The standard systemic chemotherapy was not indicated in these cases due to the patients' systemic condition. BAI was performed using CDDP (40-80 mg/m2)+CPT-11 (40-60 mg/m2).

The diagnosis is usually not established before surgery, but recently some reports have described the usefulness of computed tomography (CT) for the detection of this condition. We encountered a 58-year-old man with torsion of the greater omentum secondary to right-sided inguinal hernia, and present the characteristic CT findings of a whirl-like mass with hyperattenuated fatty tissue.

Two out of three cases were rectal cancer and the third case being ascending colon cancer. After the operations, each of the three cases showed a multiple lung metastases recurrence at the primary and metastatic lesions of the lung.

This unexpected and complicated accumulation of thallium-201 appeared to depend on not only breakdown of the blood-brain barrier but also on the hemodynamics of this type of venous infarction.

CT images showed distended bowel loops at the level of the cephalad part of the stomach, collapsed triangular loops and attached mesentery were depicted just behind the caudal part of the stomach. These findings provided clues to the diagnosis of this type of lesser sac hernia.
