Article Synopsis
  • Primary racemose hemangioma of the bronchial artery (RHBA) is a rare congenital condition involving enlarged bronchial arteries that may form abnormal connections with other blood vessels.
  • A case study reports successful balloon-assisted embolization for a 57-year-old asymptomatic woman with RHBA, utilizing a specialized catheter system to precisely deliver a treatment mixture to the affected areas.
  • This method is preferred to prevent the risk of artery rupture caused by the dilated vessels, effectively guiding treatment while controlling blood flow.

Epipericardial fat necrosis is a rare cause of acute pleuritic chest pain and is a benign and self-limiting condition. It is important to distinguish epipericardial fat necrosis from other diseases that cause acute chest pain, such as acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, and acute pericarditis, because conservative treatment is recommended for epipericardial fat necrosis. This report presents the case of a 25-year-old man with severe pleuritic chest pain located on the left anterior side that was associated with dyspnea.

Transcatheter arterial embolization is a useful treatment for postpancreatectomy hemorrhage, a severe complication of pancreatic surgery. N-butyl cyanoacrylate is a liquid and permanent embolic material that is widely used in transcatheter arterial embolization. However, its use can lead to the adherence of the catheter to the vessel wall and occlusion of the catheter lumen.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess a modified CT scan protocol using a lower contrast agent dose to improve the diagnosis of systemic artery-to-pulmonary artery shunts (SPSs).
  • Twenty-five patients underwent chest CT scans and conventional angiography, with two trained radiologists evaluating the effectiveness of three different CT image sets.
  • Results showed that the modified CT scan (CTA-PS) had better sensitivity and accuracy for detecting SPSs compared to the standard protocols, suggesting it could serve as a reliable alternative to traditional angiography for patients suspected of having these shunts.

Article Synopsis
  • * The new mixture (N-butyl cyanoacrylate-Lipiodol-Iopamidol) is less sticky and can form larger droplets compared to the previous mixture.
  • * A case study of a 63-year-old man with a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm showed successful treatment using this advanced mixture during an emergency procedure, highlighting its efficacy for aneurysm embolization.

Objective: To optimize the scan protocol for high temporal resolution magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of the liver under single breath-holding, using compressed sensing (CS) and parallel imaging (PI) techniques in a 1.5 T MR system.

Methods: 31 healthy volunteers who underwent fat-suppressed gradient-echo weighted imaging using a 1.

Purpose: To assess whether the modified reading system "Triage Reader" (TR) can improve the radiological reading work environment.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective, single-center study analyzed two reading systems for 26,786 computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examinations. In the conventional system (January 1-May 31, 2016), all reading work was mostly completed within the day.
