Quantitative evaluation of myocardial native T value by measuring modified Look-Locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) method is clinically useful and is used for follow-up of various myocardial diseases. The heart rate during the scan can vary even in the same subjects. Therefore, it is important to know the effects of the heart rate on the native T value of the myocardium.

We present the case of a patient with renal cell cancer (RCC) and suspicious vertebral metastasis presenting with back pain, who was later found to have epithelioid hemangioma. FDG PET/CT demonstrated uptake of FDG not only in RCC, but also in the sixth thoracic vertebral body.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLate gadolinium enhancement (LGE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is valuable for diagnosis and assessment of the severity of various myocardial diseases owing to its potential to visualize myocardial scars. T mapping is complementary to LGE because it can quantify the degree of myocardial fibrosis or edema. As such, T-weighted imaging techniques, including LGE using an inversion recovery sequence, contribute to cardiac MRI.

Methods: Twenty patients with HCM and 11 controls were examined. Texture analysis was performed for the hypertrophied regions with and without and abnormal hyperintensity (AHI) and for the interventricular septum of the controls on T2-STIR.

Purpose: Modified Look-Locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) using a 5s(3s)3s scheme is robust to tachycardia, but some errors are occasionally observed in myocardial T mapping. We sought to evaluate the relationship between measurement errors in T mapping and heart rate (HR) using a confidence map.
Methods: We enrolled 69 male patients with normal native T values of the septal myocardium measured by a 5s(3s)3s MOLLI.
Glomerulocystic kidney (GCK) is often associated with genetic disorders and identified in children or adolescents. However, there are some case reports describing sporadic adult GCK identified by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The purpose of this study was to evaluate relationship of GCK identified by MRI in older patients to renal function and renal corticomedullary differentiation (CMD) assessed by MRI.

Placentomegaly with fetal growth restriction should be included as one of the differential diagnoses for intraplacental MSH. Care management of MSH requires to be tailored to each individual's responses while taking the NICU's capabilities and the patient's wishes into consideration.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-three patients with HCM were enrolled in this IRB-approved study. The extension of LGE was determined based on the American Heart Association segments model.
Purpose: We sought to use non-contrast-enhanced T mapping to determine the native T values required to identify myocardial fibrosis in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).
Methods: A total of 25 patients with DCM and 15 healthy controls were enrolled. All subjects underwent T mapping using modified look-locker inversion recovery, and the patients underwent late gadolinium-enhancement (LGE) imaging.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a relatively common myocardial genetic disease having a wide variety of symptoms and prognoses. The most serious complications of HCM are sudden cardiac death induced by ventricular arrhythmia or inappropriate changes in blood pressure, and heart failure. Cardiac MR imaging is a valuable imaging method for detecting HCM because of its accurate measurement of wall thickness and myocardial mass without limited view and the unique ability of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) to identify myocardial fibrosis related to the prognosis of HCM.

Methods: We investigated 52 breasts of the 26 subjects who underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI. One experienced reader scored BPE visually (i.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the extent and the location of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and ventricular tachyarrhythmia or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
Methods: We enrolled 115 patients with HCM and LGE. The location of LGE was divided into septal and nonseptal segments.
Three-dimensional (3D) cardiac magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has several advantages, including the easy coverage of the entire heart without misregistration, reduction of breath-holding times, and availability for postprocessing reconstruction. These advantages are associated with some techniques such as breath-hold or navigator gating and parallel imaging. However, the image quality of 3D cardiac MR images is compromised by the use of a shorter repetition time and parallel imaging.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of T2 mapping for detecting myocardial injuries in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
Methods: Twenty-one HCM patients and 7 healthy volunteers were examined. The T2 values were measured at hyperintense areas (high-T2 areas) identified with T2 mapping, at late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) areas, and in nullified myocardium of the HCM patients.
