Objective: This study used a self-authorship framework to explore if diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and social determinants of health (SDoH)-focused laboratories and learning activities increase student confidence in understanding aspects of implicit bias and SDoH, and how these activities impact student comfort in discussing and confidence in initiating conversations on DEI/SDoH topics with colleagues, faculty, supervisors, and patients.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of American Heart Association (AHA) advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) education and training on long-term retention of ACLS knowledge and confidence in Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students.

Methods: This multicenter study included PharmD students who received ACLS training through different means: 1-hour didactic lecture (didactic), 1-hour didactic lecture with 2-hour skills practice (didactic + skills), and comprehensive AHA ACLS certification through an elective course (elective-certification). Students completed a survey before training, immediately after training, and at least 6-12 months after training to assess demographics and ACLS confidence and knowledge.

It is essential to ensure that reusable dental instruments are scrupulously clean as a first step in the decontamination process. Any residual soil on the surface of equipment creates a risk that will prevent steam, generated during sterilisation, from condensing on the surface of the instrument and raising the temperature to that required to ensure sterilisation. This commentary offers a call to action to develop equity-minded, evidence-based faculty workload policies and practices within colleges and schools of pharmacy. The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy sponsored an investigation to characterize and compare peer schools' models for measuring and using faculty workload data. An external consulting group selected 28 colleges and schools of pharmacy based on characteristics similar to the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and collected information, feedback, and data on how these programs assessed faculty workload.

Ice surfaces are characterized by pre-melted quasi-liquid layers (QLLs), which mediate both crystal growth processes and interactions with external agents. Understanding QLLs at the molecular level is necessary to unravel the mechanisms of ice crystal formation. Exposure to microgravity (µG) during space flights produces a state of immunosuppression, leading to increased viral shedding, which could interfere with long term missions. Importance: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a common occurrence in childhood; consequently, evidence-based recommendations for its treatment are required.

Computer simulation studies of multiphase systems rely on the accurate identification of local molecular structures and arrangements in order to extract useful insights. Local order parameters, such as Steinhardt parameters, are widely used for this identification task; however, the parameters are often tailored to specific local structural geometries and generalize poorly to new structures and distorted or undercoordinated bonding environments. Motivated by the desire to simplify the process and improve the accuracy, we introduce DeepIce, a novel deep neural network designed to identify ice and water molecules, which can be generalized to new structures where multiple bonding environments are present.

Introduction: In 2016, new Accreditation Standards were implemented that required integration of affective domain elements (ADEs) into the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum and admissions interview process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between admissions variables and performance in a new course, and to analyze the relationship between student self-assessment and faculty evaluation of their development and performance in ADEs.
