Recently, there has been a growing interest in complex and high-risk intervention in indicated patients (CHIP) in the contemporary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). CHIP is composed of the following 3 factors: (1) patient factors, (2) complicated heart disease, and (3) complex PCI. However, there are few studies that investigated the long-term outcomes of CHIP-PCI.

Methods: Patients' immunoglobulin (Ig)M and IgG titers against Rickettsia japonica and Rickettsia typhi in two phases were measured using an indirect immunoperoxidase assay at two reference centers for rickettsiosis in Japan. Cross-reaction was defined as a higher titer against R.
Aim: Adverse limb events after endovascular therapy (EVT) are a major concern. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum malondialdehyde-modified low-density lipoprotein (MDA-LDL) level, a potentially potent indicator of atherosclerosis, and clinical outcomes after EVT in patients with lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD).
Methods: A total of 208 LEAD patients who underwent EVT and MDA-LDL measurements were retrospectively analyzed.
The effects of smoking on fetal development and stem cell differentiation are not fully understood. Although nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) are expressed in many organs of the human body, their significance in human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) remains unclear. After expression levels of nAChR subunits in hiPSCs were determined, the effects of the nAChR agonist, nicotine, on undifferentiated hiPSCs were evaluated using a Clariom S Array.

Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 202 consecutive patients diagnosed with unilateral MD from 2015 to 2021 and assigned them to four groups: Group I (G-I), symptomatic oral medication with betahistine only (CONT); Group II (G-II), inner ear vasoactive oral medication (ATP); Group III (G-III), osmotic diuretic oral medication (ISO); and Group IV (G-IV), kampo oral medication (SAI). In total, 172 patients completed the planned one-year-follow-up, which included the assessment of vertigo frequency, hearing improvement, and changes in EH using ieMRI (G-I, n=40; G-II, n=42; G-III, n=44; G-IV, n=46).
The focus of this brief review is to describe the application of nanoparticles, including endogenous nanoparticles (e.g., extracellular vesicles, EVs, and virus capsids) and exogenous nanoparticles (e.

However, the impact of peak CRP on long-term outcomes in patients with STEMI is not completely understood. The purpose of this retrospective study was to compare the long-term all-cause death after STEMI between patients with and without high peak CRP levels.

The risk of AIS or transient ischemic attack (TIA) may be amplified by invasive procedures, including primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study aimed to investigate the factors associated with in-hospital AIS/TIA in patients with STEMI who required primary PCI.

Less than 1.0% of malignant lymphomas are primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL), a rare malignant lymphoma. Due to its infrequency, the metabolic dynamics of the treatment have not been completely analyzed.

However, the results regarding long-term outcomes in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) are inconsistent. Therefore, the present study investigated sex differences in long-term outcomes in patients with CCS after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods: This was a large-scale multicenter cohort study.
Background: Mesenteric venous thrombosis (MVT) and appendiceal diverticulitis are rare diseases. There has been no previous report on MVT complicating appendiceal diverticulitis. Herein, we report the first case of MVT complicating appendiceal diverticulitis.

However, regional differences in the changes in domain-specific PA and SB in response to the COVID-19 pandemic are not clearly understood.
Objective: This study aimed to examine regional differences in domain-specific PA and SB, as well as sleeping time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan.
Purpose: To identify secular trends in the use of radiotherapy prostheses in the Clinic for Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital and to ascertain patient characteristics and future needs.
Methods: The study included all patients who visited the clinic between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2019. Data on numbers of cases, gender and age, numbers and types of radiotherapy prostheses, primary cancer site, and time required for prosthesis fabrication during the study period were collected from medical records and retrospectively analyzed.
Although there are several books or manuscripts regarding how to prepare scientific manuscripts, the literatures focusing on the preparation of the revised manuscript are sparse. The process of revisions may be different between experimental medicine and clinical medicine. In this review, we summarize the tips for the revised manuscript in clinical medicine.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted over 17 months from 11 May 2020 to 30 September 2021 at a large hospital in Tokyo. Universal DNA amplification tests were conducted during pre-admission screening, and enhanced precaution strategies were implemented for all patients with negative admission tests.
Background: Femoral impaction bone grafting (IBG) was introduced in the late 1990s in Japan and has gradually become recognized as a useful option for femoral revision. The aim of the present study was to retrospectively analyze 10 to 15 years of clinical results of femoral revision arthroplasties of IBG using Exeter stem performed by experienced Japanese surgeons.
Methods: We investigated radiographic and clinical records more than 2 years after surgery in 99 hips of 93 patients.
The chemical and physical properties of amides change substantially when the electron-withdrawing groups attached to the nitrogen are varied. Herein, we report the superior performance of -diphenylphosphinyl 1,2,3-triazolium amidate as a photoinduced hydrogen-atom transfer catalyst compared to its -benzoyl analog. A binary catalyst system of the phosphinyl amidate and an Ir-based photocatalyst enables the alkylation of unbiased C-H bonds.

However, discrepancies have been reported in the impact of ALC, and limited information is currently available on the L-index.
Methods: To search for a better clinical tool, the authors retrospectively compared the simple L-index at 30 days (sL-index(30)), which aims to make the original L-index more compact, and ALC at 30 days (ALC(30)) after allo-HSCT in 217 patients who underwent allo-HSCT at the authors' institutions.
