Introduction: Spontaneous regression (SR) is observed in some patients with mature T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (MTCL), including adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL), although the incidence is rare.
Area Covered: We extracted 31 cases with MTCL who experienced SR based on a literature search and summarized the patient characteristics and clinical outcomes.
Expert Opinion: MTCL with SR included various subtypes, the most common being ATL ( = 17).
Inappropriate discontinuation of immunosuppressive drugs (ISD) following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) can lead to the development of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) and necessitate the reintroduction of ISD. However, only a few studies have compared the discontinuation rates of secondary steroid for cGVHD between different stem cell sources. We retrospectively evaluated 191 patients who underwent HCT at our institution to determine the discontinuation rates of secondary steroids for cGVHD.

Although the plants were asymptomatic, a comprehensive survey using RT-PCR and RT-qPCR revealed PSTVd occurrence areas spread across 15 out of 24 prefectures where the potentially PSTVd-infected seedlings were supplied.

Secondary hypogammaglobulinemia is a risk factor for infectious diseases. Total immunoglobulin G (IgG) levels and the history of infectious diseases are an integral part of determining the indication for immunoglobulin replacement therapy.

Platforms included human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-haploidentical-related donors using post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCY), HLA-matched related donors (MRD), HLA-matched unrelated donors (MUD) and cord blood transplantation (CBT). Patients who underwent their first allo-HCT between 2016 and 2021 were included.

While conventional chemotherapy offers short-term disease control, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) remains the most promising curative approach for young, transplant-eligible patients. This review focuses on current treatment strategies for aggressive ATL in this specific population.

Here, we constructed and characterized infectious clones of ToMMV isolated from Japanese sweet pepper seeds. The genome of the Japanese isolate is 6399 nucleotides in length and exhibits the highest identity with previously characterized isolates.

However, we could not identify the anti-fungal compound due to the small quantity. Therefore, we attempted to increase the productivity of the target compound by the introduction of a global secondary metabolism regulator, laeA to the strain, which led to the successful isolation of 10-folds greater amount of MS-347a (1) than Aspergillus sp.

The evidence is limited regarding other diseases potentially associated with HTLV-1, such as HTLV-1-associated autoimmune diseases.
Area Covered: We summarized the available information on complications associated with HTLV-1 infection.
Introduction: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection remains a major complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). While conventional antiviral agents such as ganciclovir can be used for CMV prophylaxis, toxicities such as myelosuppression are a major concern.
Area Covered: This work aimed to summarize the latest information and practical issues regarding a new anti-CMV agent, letermovir (LET).
Plasma membrane H-ATPase provides the driving force for light-induced stomatal opening. However, the mechanisms underlying the regulation of its activity remain unclear. Here, we show that the phosphorylation of two Thr residues in the C-terminal autoinhibitory domain is crucial for H-ATPase activation and stomatal opening in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Few reports assess the impact of different dose of Flu on the clinical outcomes and the Flu doses vary across reports. To compare the effect of Flu dose, the clinical outcomes of patients who received Flu and busulfan (FB; n = 1647) or melphalan (Flu with melphalan (FM); n = 1162) conditioning for unrelated bone marrow transplantation were retrospectively analyzed using Japanese nationwide registry data.

Multiple FLT3 inhibitors, including gilteritinib, have been developed and serve as treatment options for RR-AML. Here, we describe three cases of FLT3 mutated RR-AML that were successfully treated with gilteritinib administration before and after allo-HCT.

We report a case in which mechanical thrombectomy and PAO were performed for a BAO due to right VA dissection caused by a transverse foramen fracture of the axis vertebra.
Case Presentation: A patient in her 80s suffered from a backward fall, and a neck CT revealed a fracture and dislocation of the right lateral mass of the axis and a compressed transverse foramen.
Background: Human T-cell leukemia virus type I (HTLV-1) is a retrovirus known to cause adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL). There are few reports on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for HTLV-1 carriers with diseases other than ATL.
Methods: A total of 25,839 patients (24,399 adults and 1440 children) with pre-transplant HTLV-1 serostatus information recorded in the Japanese National Survey Database who had undergone their first HSCT were analyzed.
We demonstrated the infectivity and host adaptation of a viola isolate of Plantago asiatica mosaic virus (PlAMV-Vi) in an asymptomatic host, Nicotiana benthamiana, through long-term serial passages. Serial passaging of a green fluorescent protein-tagged full-length cDNA clone of PlAMV-Vi (PlAMV-Vi) in N. benthamiana plants resulted in the appearance of a new virus line inducing leaf-crinkle symptoms, the Leaf Crinkle (LC) line.
