Article Synopsis
  • The study developed a risk prediction model to identify delayed recovery from anesthesia in elderly lung adenocarcinoma patients undergoing VATS radical resection, based on data from 257 patients.
  • Risk factors for delayed recovery included longer anesthesia duration, increased intraoperative infusion volume, use of inhaled desflurane, preoperative respiratory tract infections, intraoperative hypothermia, and the presence of hypertension, with an occurrence rate of 16.34%.
  • The model demonstrated good predictive performance with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.869 and a solid net benefit rate, serving as a valuable tool for healthcare providers to identify high-risk patients.

The objective of this study was to investigate the current situation of sleep quality in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis (MHD), and whether hope and family function play a mediating role between negative emotions and sleep quality. The Athens Insomnia Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Herth Hope Index and Family Adaptation, Partnership, Growth, Affection and Resolve (APGAR) Index were used to investigate 227 MHD patients. The correlations among study variables were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.

This study aimed to develop and internally validate a nomogram model for assessing the risk of intraoperative hypothermia in patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) lobectomy. This study is a retrospective study. A total of 530 patients who undergoing VATS lobectomy from January 2022 to December 2023 in a tertiary hospital in Wuhan were selected.

To investigate the effect of teach-back strategy on hemodialysis related knowledge level, self-efficacy and self-management among hemodialysis patients. The research is a quasi-randomized control trial. A total of 92 patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis were randomly divided into observation group (n = 46) and control group (n = 46) by random number table method.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the levels of hope in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis (MHD), and whether anxiety and depression mediate the relationship between family function and hope.

Methods: The family APGAR index, hospital anxiety and depression scale, and Herth hope index were recorded using the self-reported questionnaires completed by 227 MHD patients.

Results: The family function can directly predict hope, positively predict hope through depression (β = 0.
