Background: Rotating hinge knee arthroplasty (RHKA) implants are often utilized as a salvage procedure in cases where bone stock is compromised. The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate whether residual collateral ligament integrity affects functional and radiographic outcomes in patients undergoing revision surgery with RHKA.
Methods: Patients treated with RHKA between 2011 and 2021 were eligible.
Microtubule (MT) and F-actin cytoskeletal cross-talk and organization are important aspects of axon guidance mechanisms, but how associated proteins facilitate this function remains largely unknown. While the MT-associated protein, CKAP5 (XMAP215/ch-TOG), has been best characterized as a MT polymerase, we have recently highlighted a novel role for CKAP5 in facilitating interactions between MT and F-actin and in embryonic neuronal growth cones. However, the mechanism by which it does so is unclear.

Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted between August 2021 and January 2022 with 200 individuals suffering from poor asthma control who participated in web-designed education. After the intervention, the asthma patients were followed up for 6 weeks to measure Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Asthma Fatigue Scale (CAFS), Asthma Control Test (ACT) and Inhalation Devices Usage Techniques Knowledge Test (IDUSTKT).
Sensory neurons in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and trigeminal ganglion (TG) are specialized to detect and transduce diverse environmental stimuli to the central nervous system. Single-cell RNA sequencing has provided insights into the diversity of sensory ganglia cell types in rodents, nonhuman primates, and humans, but it remains difficult to compare cell types across studies and species. We thus constructed harmonized atlases of the DRG and TG that describe and facilitate comparison of 18 neuronal and 11 non-neuronal cell types across six species and 31 datasets.

Moxifloxacin (MFX) and dexketoprofen (DEX) can be used simultaneously in bacterial infections. However, there are no studies on how the simultaneous use of DEX affects the pharmacokinetics of MFX in rats.

Methods: The findings of 8250 patients who applied to our outpatient clinic and underwent thyroid ultrasonography(US) between 2008 and 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. We included a total of 296 patients with 296 macrocalcified nodules (macrocalcification group) and an age- and sex matched group of 300 patients (control group) with the cytopathologic and/or histopathologic data of fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of thyroid nodules without calcification.
To create some novel anticancer molecules, a library of novel series of various triazoles linked to the hydroxyl group of 5,6,7,8-tetrafluoronaphthalen-1-ol was designed and synthesized CuAAC reaction ' of tetrafluoronaphthalene based terminal alkyne with substituted organic azides. The structural characterizations of the targeted Click products were confirmed by FTIR, H NMR, F NMR, C NMR and HRMS spectroscopy. Synthesized compounds were tested in two triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines to understand their anticancer potentials.

Management of fusarium wilt by synthetic fertilizers poses safety concerns. Safer-by-design nanomaterials synthesized with a greener approach can meet the needs of commercial antifungal drug resistance.

We hypothesize that hyperglycemia-associated hyperosmolarity facilitates vasodilation through Piezo1-mediated eNOS (endothelial NO synthase) activation.
Methods: Vasoreactivity was analyzed using wire myography in isolated mouse mesenteric arteries and renal interlobar, and using microvascular perfusion in renal afferent arterioles and efferent arterioles, and vasa recta.
Background: Spreading depolarizations (SDs) are believed to contribute to injury progression and worsen outcomes in focal cerebral ischemia because exogenously induced SDs have been associated with enlarged infarct volumes. However, previous studies used highly invasive methods to trigger SDs that can directly cause tissue injury (eg, topical KCl) and confound the interpretation. Here, we tested whether SDs indeed enlarge infarcts when induced via a novel, noninjurious method using optogenetics.

Thyroid carcinomas are derived from the follicular epithelium and classified as papillary (PTC) (85%), follicular (FTC) (12%), and anaplastic (ATC) (<3%). Thyroid cancer could arise from thyroid cancer stem-like cells (CSCs).

Methods: Data were collected digitally from 434 doctors working in emergency departments in Turkey. On the assumption that perceived stress was effective on organizational silence behavior and that emotional intelligence mediates this relationship, hypotheses were developed and a mediating effect model was established.
By sequencing 727 ancient individuals from the Southern Arc (Anatolia and its neighbors in Southeastern Europe and West Asia) over 10,000 years, we contextualize its Chalcolithic period and Bronze Age (about 5000 to 1000 BCE), when extensive gene flow entangled it with the Eurasian steppe. Two streams of migration transmitted Caucasus and Anatolian/Levantine ancestry northward, and the Yamnaya pastoralists, formed on the steppe, then spread southward into the Balkans and across the Caucasus into Armenia, where they left numerous patrilineal descendants. Anatolia was transformed by intra-West Asian gene flow, with negligible impact of the later Yamnaya migrations.

In contrast to current literature, this study examines the quadratic relationship between China's real exports to 154 partner countries and the income of trading partners from 1996 to 2019. The findings obtained from the second generational econometric analysis confirm cross-section dependence and heterogeneous slope among panel members.

The recalcitrant nature of biofilms makes biofilm-associated infections difficult to treat in modern medicine. Biofilms have a high vulnerability to antibiotics and a limited repertoire of antibiotics could act on matured biofilms. This issue has resulted in a gradual paradigm shift in drug discovery and therapy, with anti-biofilm compounds being sought alongside new drug carriers.

Despite numerous studies on AKI in children, most studies have excluded neonates. We sought to characterize AKI associated with cardiac surgery in neonates, determine its incidence, perioperative and postoperative risk factors, and short-term results.

Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) has limited efficacy in assessing tissue types, while near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) provides complementary information to IVUS but lacks depth information. The aim of this study is to train and assess the efficacy of a machine learning classifier for plaque component classification that relies on IVUS echogenicity and NIRS-signal, using histology as reference standard.

Methods: In this study, a total of 91 female patients with the BC were studied. Both the supine and prone images were examined based on the axial diameter, number and location of the primary tumor, local invasion signs of the tumor, the number of axillary lymph nodes with a suspected metastasis, metabolic parameters of the primary tumor and axillary lymph nodes, and registration artifacts of the PET and CT images were evaluated individually.
Background And Purpose: Results of conventional nerve conduction studies may be within normal limits in early diabetic neuropathy. Previous studies demonstrated that F-wave latency should be used to detect this early neuropathic process. The aim of this study is to evaluate the sensitivity of lower/upper extremity F latency ratios in detecting the early neuropathy in patients with diabetic neuropathic pain.
