Crop output is directly impacted by infections, with fungi as the major plant pathogens, making accurate diagnosis of these threats crucial. Developing technology and multidisciplinary approaches are turning to genomic analyses in addition to traditional culture methods in diagnostics of fungal plant pathogens. The metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) method is preferred for genotyping identification of organisms, identification at the species level, illumination of metabolic pathways, and determination of microbiota.

There is a limited knowledge on proteomic responses to support physiological, biochemical changes in how safflowers can regulate growth and metabolism under drought conditions and followed by re-watering. The changes in morphological, physiological, biochemical and proteomics of safflower genotypes ( L.

The most important of these effects was exceeding the capacity of the healthcare infrastructures, and the related inability to meet the need for various medical equipment especially within the first months of the crisis following the emergence and rapid spreading of the virus. Urgent global demand for the previously unavailable personal protective equipment, sterile disposable medical supplies as well as the active molecules including vaccines and drugs fueled the need for the coordinated efforts of the scientific community.

Methods: The medical records of consecutive patients diagnosed with refractive accommodative esotropia (esotropia eliminated or decreased to within 10 D with full hyperopic correction) were retrospectively reviewed. Cycloplegic refractions culled from medical records were converted into spherical equivalents.
Objectives: We aimed to demonstrate the 5-year visual, topographic, and aberrometry long-term results of standard collagen cross-linking (CCL) treatment in keratoconus patients.
Materials And Methods: The files and topographic measurements of patients who underwent standard CCL treatment for progressive keratoconus were retrospectively reviewed. Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), refraction values, and topographic values were evaluated.
A key challenge in skeletal muscle tissue engineering is the choice of a proper scaffolding material as it should demonstrate elastic behavior to withstand and support the dynamic loading of the tissue microenvironment while being biodegradable and biocompatible. In this study, we tested the applicability of a novel biodegradable polyurethane (PU) elastomer chain extended with fibrinogen (Fib) to fulfill these requirements. Biodegradable polyurethane-fibrinogen (PU-Fib) elastomers were synthesized by step-wise condensation polymerization.

Aptamers are one of the mostly used and highly selective targeting agents for cancer cells. Herein, we address a nano-sized targeted drug delivery approach adorned with A-172 glioblastoma cell-line-specific single stranded DNA (ssDNA) aptamer in which the chemotherapeutic agent Doxorubicin (DOX) had been conjugated.

Food safety is a major issue to protect public health and a key challenge is to find detection methods for identification of hazards in food. Food borne infections affects millions of people each year and among pathogens, Salmonella Enteritidis is most widely found bacteria causing food borne diseases. Therefore, simple, rapid, and specific detection methods are needed for food safety.

A low-cost, portable, and disposable paper-type tyrosinase biosensor was developed for determination of phenolic compounds, using a paper-strip absorption method. Tyrosinase and a chromophore (3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone) were immobilized on paper strips to manufacture the biosensor, which was tested on a nontoxic substrate (l-dopamine). The biosensor was responsive to phenolic compounds such as 4-chlorophenol, catechol, m-cresol, and p-cresol.

A LFA for reactive oxygen species (ROS) is reported that is based on horse radish peroxidase (HRP) which is co-entrapped with Texas Red dextran inside porous polyacrylamide nanoparticles. In this system, enzymes are protected in the porous matrix of polyacrylamide which freely allows the diffusion of the analyte.
