We report the case of an 86-year-old male who was admitted for intestinal subocclusion, in whom an abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan and colonoscopy revealed a colocolonic intussusception with an underlying and heterogeneous mass, failing to rule out a neoformative lesion. A left hemicolectomy procedure was carried out with regional lymphadenectomy (because of the potential neoplastic origin) through laparoscopy, and the patient had a favourable postoperative course. Pathology described 45cm of an intestinal segment, with intussusception and with a 12x7x6 cm ulcerated polypoid lesion.

We investigated health-related quality of life (HrQoL) in Filipino people undergoing TB treatment, and whether HrQoL was negatively impacted by comorbidity with undernutrition, diabetes (DM) and anaemia. Adult participants were enrolled in public facilities in Metro Manila (three sites) and Negros Occidental (two sites). Multivariate linear regression was used to model the four correlated domain scores from a WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire (physical, psychological, social, environmental).

We aimed to assess non-communicable multimorbidity (co-occurrence of two or more medical conditions) in Filipino TB outpatients, focusing on malnutrition and diabetes. In a cross-sectional study, 637 adults (70% male) from clinics in urban Metro Manila (N = 338) and rural Negros Occidental (N = 299) were enrolled.

Background: Central venous catheterization (CVC) is a basic requirement for many medical specialties. Simulated training in CVC may allow the acquisition of this competency but few reports have established a valid methodology for learning and acquiring procedural skills for CVC. This study aims to validate the use of a tracking motion device, the imperial college surgical assessment device (ICSAD), by comparing it with validated global rating scales (GRS) to measure CVC performance in a simulated torso.
