Intelligent systems are those in which behavior is determined by environmental inputs, and actions are taken to maximize the probability of achieving specific goals. Intelligent systems are widely applied across various fields, particularly in distributed intelligent systems. At the same time, due to the extensive interaction with user data, intelligent systems face significant challenges regarding security.

Bone loss makes it harder to do dental implants and repairs. Inspired by the biological architecture of bone, a deformable SIS/HA (Small intestinal submucosa/Hydroxyapatite) composite hydrogel coaxial scaffold was designed to maintain bone volume in the socket.

Our previous study revealed that NTS suppressed the activity of brown adipose tissue via interactions with NTSR2. In the current study, we found that the depletion of Ntsr2 in white adipocytes upregulated food intake, while the local treatment of NTS suppressed food intake.

The authors aimed to examine this claim and associated myths and controversies by analyzing literature trends and revealing the role of the PMMP flap in a well-established microsurgery center.
Methods: The senior author's reconstructive H&N practice between 1995 and 2022 was reviewed to describe and critically judge primary and secondary PMMP flap decisions to provide invaluable lessons learned and debunk common controversies related to complex H&N reconstruction.
Background: Environmental pollutants have been found to contribute to the development and acute exacerbation of asthma. Microplastics (MPs) have received widespread attention as an emerging global pollutant. Airborne MPs can cause various adverse health effects.

Eight lactating rabbits with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group (BPA) and the control group (Ctrl). The group BPA was orally administered 80 mg/kg/day BPA on the 15th day postpartum, while the group Ctrl received a corresponding volume of vehicle.

The effects of low-temperature cooling on yak semen quality, however, are poorly understood. This study aimed to determine the dose-dependent effect of mitochondria-targeted antioxidant "MitoQ" on the motility, oxidative status, and mitochondrial function of yak semen during low-temperature preservation.

Captured antibodies specific to these exogenous proteins were separately immobilized on a nitrocellulose membrane as test zones. Multi-colored microspheres, used as visible multi-probes, were conjugated with corresponding antibodies and sprayed on the conjugate pad.

We report a novel shear-detachment (SD) approach to simulate the dynamics of flux recovery in the membrane cleaning process. In this model, the rate of foulant detachment away from the membrane is governed by both the shear intensity and the probability of successful foulant detachment, with the latter modeled by Boltzmann distribution. Our SD predictions exhibit good agreement with experimental results, accurately capturing the dynamics of flux recovery.

Background And Purpose: Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) was reported to be critical for mediating the neurological function after stroke, while the impact of soluble TREM-1 (sTREM-1) on cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke is unclear. We aimed to explore the association between sTREM-1 and post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI).
Methods: We prospectively recruited consecutive ischemic stroke patients who admitted hospital within 7 days of onset.
Guided by the mode of action of , our previously discovered RORγt inverse agonist, we conducted five rounds of design syntheses and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies, ultimately identifying RORγt inverse agonist , which exhibited superior activity compared to . Besides, showed promising therapeutic effects in alleviating psoriasis in mice by intraperitoneal injection. Due to the high lipophilicity and pharmacokinetic properties of , it was formulated into an ointment, which enabled effective skin retention and mitigated systemic side effects.

While poor self-management and compliance are suggested as contributing factors, they do not fully explain the underlying mechanisms of high risk of cardiac events in HF patients with CI. Given the interconnectedness of CI and the autonomic nervous system (ANS), both regulated by the central nervous system, this study investigated the relationship among cognitive function, metabolism in ANS-related brain regions, and major arrhythmic events (MAEs) in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Methods: Clinical data of 822 patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease and moderate ischemic mitral regurgitation were analyzed retrospectively. Patients were divided into the OPCABG and CABG+MVP groups according to surgical methods.
Taihang is an indigenous breed in Hebei Province and has a long history of evolution. To uncover the genetic basis and protect the genetic resources, it is important to develop accurate markers to identify Taihang at the molecular level. In this study, a total of 137 individuals from Taihang and other 4 breeds were selected to construct a genome-wide SNP map.

Ultra-high-grade silver ores have silver contents up to tens of weight-percent in the form of silver sulfides and native silver. Ore-forming fluids of most silver deposits, however, typically contain low silver contents of parts per million silver.

Calnexin is extensively documented to participate in host immunity in the endoplasmic reticulum. However, the functions and fundamental mechanisms of calnexin in the invertebrate innate defence remain largely unknown.

Cracks represent one of the most common types of damage in building structures and it is crucial to detect cracks in a timely manner to maintain the safety of the buildings. In general, tiny cracks require focusing on local detail information while complex long cracks and cracks similar to the background require more global features for detection. Therefore, it is necessary for crack detection to effectively integrate local and global information.

Here, a two-step structural design strategy is developed, where the first step enhances the backbone planarity which enhances the conductivity by an improved ordering of conjugated polymers (CPs). The second step, which is fluorination of the backbone, improves the Seebeck coefficient by the controlled induction of energetic disorder, stemming from the fluorine's disruption of the homogeneous electrostatic potential across the CP backbone.
