The authentication of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen (ZSS), Ziziphi Mauritianae Semen (ZMS), and Hovenia Acerba Semen (HAS) has become challenging. The chromatic and textural properties of ZSS, ZMS, and HAS are analyzed in this study. Color features were extracted via RGB, CIELAB, and HSI spaces, whereas texture information was analyzed via the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and Law's texture feature analysis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong non-coding RNA TMC3-AS1 is identified to be upregulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in inflammatory disease, but its role in acute kidney injury (AKI) is almost unknown. The study investigated the involvement of TMC3-AS1 in LPS-induced AKI and its downstream molecular regulatory mechanism. Our data suggested that knocking down TMC3-AS1 significantly reduced renal dysfunction, tissue inflammation and tissue damage in LPS-induced mice, and promoted cell viability, inhibited inflammation, apoptosis and necrosis in LPS-stimulated human renal tubular epithelial cells HK2.

Increasing evidence highlights the critical role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in PD pathogenesis. However, the specific involvement of SHANK2-AS3 in PD remains unclear.

Inducing apoptosis of HTS-derived fibroblasts (HSFs) are becoming promising approaches. In this research, we aim to improve the technology with co-delivery COX-2 and TGF-β1 siRNAs and further investigate the underlying mechanism.

Purpose: This research aimed to evaluate the expression level of Homeobox A9 (HOXA9) and its role in tumorigenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: Bioinformatic analysis, qPCR and Western blot analysis of clinical samples were employed to evaluate mRNA and protein levels of HOXA9 in HCC patients and cell lines. In vitro cell proliferation, migration and invasion, cloning formation, xenograft tumor model, wound healing and apoptosis assays, RNA sequencing analysis of RPL38-silenced HCC-LM3 cells and qPCR, Western blot analysis were performed for validation.
The rise in additive manufacturing (AM) offers myriad opportunities for 3D-printed polymeric vascular scaffolds, such as customization and on-the-spot manufacturing, biodegradation, incorporation of drugs to prevent restenosis, and visibility under X-ray. To maximize these benefits, informed scaffold design is critical. Polymeric bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) must undergo significant deformation prior to implantation in a diameter-reduction process known as crimping which enables minimally invasive surgery.

However, existing methods still inevitably require complex systems and are unable to achieve continuous and arbitrary phase manipulation. Here, one type of a bilayer metasurface is proposed to simultaneously manipulate reflection and transmission phases continuously and independently, which also makes the optical system more compact without requiring any analyzers and enhances the degree of freedom for full-space beam manipulation.

Limited pharmacological interventions are currently available. Our understanding of the neurobiological pathophysiology of PPD remains incomplete, potentially hindering the development of novel treatment strategies.

The Lateral Habenula (LHb) encodes aversive experiences, contributes to negative moods, and is pivotal in depression development. However, the precise impact of MS on LHb cytokine signaling and synaptic plasticity remains unclear.

(ASR) and (APR), as traditional herbal medicines, are often confused and doped in the material market. However, the traditional identification method is to characterize the whole herb with a single or a few components, which do not have representation and cannot realize the effective utilization of unknown components. Consequently, the result is not convincing.

The increasing ground-level ozone (O) is threatening food security, especially in Asian areas, where rice is one of the most important staple crops. O impacts on rice could be exacerbated by its spatiotemporal heterogeneity. To improve evaluation accuracy and develop effective adaptations, direct data is urgently needed.

Multivariate statistical analysis was used to select 39 characteristic factors for distinguishing PR origins and 14 characteristic factors for discriminating PR varieties (VIP > 1 and P < 0.

Methods: We performed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization study to investigate the causal effect between gut microbiota and metabolic syndrome in European population.
Fully bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVSs) aim to overcome the limitations of metallic drug-eluting stents (DESs). However, polymer-based BVSs, such as Abbott's Absorb, the only US FDA-approved BVS, have had limited use due to increased strut thickness (157 μm for Absorb), exacerbated tissue inflammation, and increased risk of major cardiac events leading to inferior clinical performance when compared to metallic DESs. Herein we report the development of a drug-eluting BVS (DE-BVS) through the innovative use of a photopolymerizable, citrate-based biomaterial and a high-precision additive manufacturing process.

Antitumor therapies based on adoptively transferred T cells or oncolytic viruses have made significant progress in recent years, but the limited efficiency of their infiltration into solid tumors makes it difficult to achieve desired antitumor effects when used alone. In this study, an oncolytic virus (rVSV-LCMVG) that is not prone to induce virus-neutralizing antibodies was designed and combined with adoptively transferred T cells. By transforming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment into an immunosensitive one, in B16 tumor-bearing mice, combination therapy showed superior antitumor effects than monotherapy.
