Aim: This study aims to explore the experiences and feelings of women of childbearing age with diabetes skin pruritus after being diagnosed.
Methods: Using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with women of childbearing age who suffer from diabetes skin pruritus, followed by data analysis.
Results: Three superordinate themes and eight subthemes were identified, including psychological distress (self-identity, lack of understanding from others, emotional damage and self-disgust), physical impairment (loss of bodily control, treatment challenges, impact on female sexual characteristics), and coping post-trauma (social withdrawal, active coping).
A pyrene-derived fluorescent probe (P4CG) was designed and synthesized for the purpose of detecting protamine and trypsin activity. The anionic probe self-assembled with protamine, driven by electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions, exhibiting a sensing behavior towards protamine in a fluorescence ratiometric manner. The assay demonstrated high sensitivity, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 13.

In this study, based on eight antibiotics at 666 sampling sites, spatial variations and probabilistic risks (human health and ecological risk) of antibiotics in eight river basins in China were analyzed. Source-specific health and ecological risk associated with antibiotics in a typical basin was apportioned quantitatively.

They help characterise complex patterns in disease spread, simulate control options to assist public health authorities in decision-making, and longer-term operational and financial planning. In the context of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), vaccines are one of the most-cost effective outbreak response interventions, with the potential to avert significant morbidity and mortality through timely delivery.

In this study, we investigated the interaction between the coat protein (CP) of cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) and ATP synthase subunit δ (ATPδ) in mitochondria. Silencing of ATPδ by tobacco rattle virus-based virus-induced gene silencing impeded CGMMV accumulation in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves.

This review aimed to systematically search, evaluate, and summarize the best evidence on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing interventions in hospice care for patients with advanced cancer and to provide an evidence-based foundation for clinical care. The time limit for the search was from 2010 to September 2024.

However, not all favorable genetic risk patients experience long-term relapse-free survival (RFS), making recognition of patients who would most likely be cured of high importance. We analyzed 297 patients aged <60 years with AML classified as 2022 ELN favorable genetic risk who achieved a CR and had RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and gene mutation data from diagnostic samples available (Alliance trial A152010).

Ozone (O₃) is recognized for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and anti-hypoxic properties, along with its minimal residual impact. However, the development of sustained O₃-release antibacterial hydrogels has been challenging due to the low solubility and short lifespan of ozone.

However, its effectiveness is limited due to the challenges in protecting against all influenza variants, as well as the weaker immune response observed in the adult population.

Here, we propose a novel kind of hydrogel grating sensor with boron affinity and molecular imprinting effects (B-MIP) for the rapid and sensitive detection of SA concentration in serum. The hydrogel gratings feature uniform surface relief microstructures and incorporate highly specific recognition binding sites into SA molecules provided by boron affinity and molecular imprinting.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients face the risk of rapid kidney function decline leading to adverse outcomes like dialysis and mortality. Lipid metabolism might contribute to acute kidney function decline in CKD patients. Here, we utilized the Mendelian Randomization approach to investigate potential causal relationships between drug target-mediated lipid phenotypes and rapid renal function decline.

It is possible that the HS synthase cystathionine-γ-lyase (CSE), which has been previously shown to promote tumour growth and metastasis in other cancer cells, is involved in this resistance. Therefore, we investigated CSE's role and potential mechanisms in TAM-resistant breast cancer cells.

The removal of mis-incorporated nucleotides by proofreading activity ensures DNA replication fidelity. Whereas the ε-exonuclease DnaQ is a well-established proofreader in the model organism , it has been shown that proofreading in a majority of bacteria relies on the polymerase and histidinol phosphatase (PHP) domain of replicative polymerase, despite the presence of a DnaQ homolog that is structurally and functionally distinct from DnaQ. However, the biological functions of this type of noncanonical DnaQ remain unclear.

Improving the level of moral courage is one of the main strategies to reduce moral distress, and low levels of moral courage may lead to nurse burnout, increased turnover, and reduced quality of care.
Methods: Nine electronic databases in Chinese and English were searched for the level of moral courage among nurses, including PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, CNKI, Wan fang, Wei pu, CBM and Cochrane Library, for the period from the date of database creation to April 5, 2023.
The presence of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in wastewater effluents and natural aquatic systems threatens ecological and human health. While activated carbon-based adsorbents, such as GAC and PAC, are widely used for API removal, they exhibit certain deficiencies, including reduced performance due to the presence of natural organic macromolecules (NOMs) and high regeneration costs. There is growing demand for a robust, stable, and self-regenerative adsorbent designed for API removal in various environments.

Currently, in densely cultivated banana plantations, there is a lack of applicable research methods for the scalable measurement of phenotypic parameters such as diameter and height of banana pseudo-stems. This paper introduces a handheld mobile LiDAR and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-fused laser scanning system designed for measuring phenotypic parameters of banana pseudo-stems within banana orchards.

In this study, we conducted a systematized review and bias assessment of all primary data on measles seroprevalence in low- and middle-income countries (as defined by World Bank 2021 income classifications) published from 1962 to 2021.
Methods: On 9 March 2022, we searched PubMed for all available data.
Aim/objective: This study aims to carry out a meta-analysis of attitudes, knowledge, and skills level of nursing students and nurses in EBP, providing a reference for optimizing EBP education strategies.
Background: At present, no meta-analysis has been performed to quantitatively synthesize the attitudes, knowledge and skill levels of nursing students and nurses toward EBP. This makes it difficult to precisely identify the true level of EBP among nurses, implying that there is no evidence to support the adoption of EBP teaching strategies approaches.
Biosurfactants derived from microorganisms have attracted widespread attention in scientific research due to their unique surface activity, low toxicity, biodegradability, antibacterial properties, and stability under extreme conditions. Biosurfactants are widely used in many fields, such as medicine, agriculture, and environmental protection. Therefore, this review aims to comprehensively review and analyze the various applications of biosurfactants in the medical field.
