Supercritical cyclohexane (SC-cyclohexane) shows significant advantages in mild operating conditions and the modulation of product distribution. To gain insights into the upgrading process of heavy oil in SC-cyclohexane, the dissolution process of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contained in heavy oil was simulated based on molecular dynamics with the use of naphthalene, benzopyrene, and mixtures of naphthalene and benzopyrene as the model compounds. As indicated by the radial distribution function results, in SC-cyclohexane exhibiting low density, cyclohexane formed a solvent shell around PAHs such that the local concentration was reduced and the aggregation of PAHs was inhibited.

The syntheses of atomically precise silver (Ag) clusters stabilized by multidentate lacunary polyoxometalate (POM) ligands have been emerging as a promising but challenging research direction, the combination of redox-active POM ligands and silver clusters will render them unexpected geometric structures and catalytic properties. Herein, we report the successful construction of two structurally-new lacunary POM-stabilized Ag clusters, TBA H Ag (DPPB) (CH CN) [Ag (Si W O ) ] ⋅ 10CH CN ⋅ 9H O ({Ag (Si W O ) }, TBA=tetra-n-butylammonium, DPPB=1,4-Bis(diphenylphosphino)butane) and TBA H Ag Na (H O) [Ag (Si W O ) ] ⋅ 8CH CN ⋅ 10H O ({Ag (Si W O ) }), using a facile one-pot solvothermal approach. Under otherwise identical synthetic conditions, the molecular structures of two POM-stabilized Ag clusters could be readily tuned by the addition of different organic ligands.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how immunohistochemistry (IHC) subtyping can predict outcomes in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and surgery.
  • It finds that the IHC subtype before treatment is linked to the likelihood of a complete pathological response and long-term survival, while after treatment, the subtype can change in about 45% of cases.
  • The post-NAC subtype is a strong indicator of survival in patients with residual disease, suggesting the need for tailored therapy based on IHC subtype both before and after NAC.
