Based on the focal adhesion kinase(FAK)/steroid receptor coactivator(Src)/extracellular regulated protein kinase(ERK) pathway, this study explored the effects of Xihuang Pills on angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis in prostate cancer. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS) was used to analyze and identify the active ingredients of Xihuang Pills. Bioinformatics techniques, including R language and Perl programs, were employed to analyze the interactions between prostate cancer-related targets and the potential targets of Xihuang Pills.

Fluorescent transition metal complexes with a charge transfer excited state, especially terpyridine-coordinated polymers, are of particular interest due to their tunable emission. In this paper, a novel bis-terpyridine ligand was synthesized and assembled into a coordination polymer, which showed intense visible light absorption and fluorescence emission in the solid state that could be regulated by an acidic or basic pH.

In this study, a self-doping and self-templating strategy was devised to produce N, S co-doped biochar catalysts through pre-cryocrushing and carbonization procedures employing chitosan (N-source) and lignosulfonate (S-source) derived from biomass waste. The as-synthesized materials exhibited excellent performance in removing tetracycline (TC) through a synergistic process of adsorption and catalytic activation.

To elucidate the direct relationship between RF and protein oxidation, the mechanism of action was analyzed in terms of amino acid and side chain residues, protein structure, and protein oxidative metabolism. Oxidation of MP resulted in significant changes in the levels of carbonyls, sulfhydryls, Lysine, Arginine, Threonin, and Histidine.

This study aimed to investigate the regulatory mechanism between endoplasmic reticulum stress (ER stress) and pyroptosis in the liver under the context of MASH.
Methods And Results: Pyroptosis was examined in both in vivo and in vitro ER stress models.
To gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which cushioning packaging preserves the quality of Chinese olive fruits during cold chain transportation and extends their shelf life, this study simulated cold chain conditions and investigated the effects of cushioning packaging on the physiology, antioxidant capacity, and secondary metabolites of fruits during a 20-day shelf life. The results indicated that the decay rate in cushioning-packaging-treated fruit was 75% lower than that in the unbuffered packaging fruit at day 20 of shelf life. Simultaneously, cushioning packaging treatment mitigated the damage severity of the cell membrane structure and kept the cell membrane permeability at a low level, which was 15.

A wealth of studies indicated that the host gut microbiota is instrumental in regulating the interplay between high-fat diet (HFD) intake and the pathogenesis of obesity. Physiological premature fruit drop, a major byproduct of citrus, is rich in a variety of bioactive constituents, yet its potential has remained underutilized for an extended period.

Purpose: Age stratification influences the clinicopathological features and survival outcomes of breast cancer. We aimed to understand the effect of age on gene variants in young Chinese women with breast cancer compared with those from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
Methods: Enrolled patients ≤ 40 years old (N = 370) underwent germline or somatic genetic testing using a 32-gene hereditary cancer panel at Fujian Union Hospital.
The current surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates typically feature a single energy level, posing challenges in coordinating electromagnetic enhancement (EM) and chemical enhancement (CM), thereby limiting the sensitive detection of numerous crucial target molecules. In this study, novel aggregated nanorings (a-NRs) hybridizing Ag, Au and AgCl are constructed as SERS substrates. On one hand, the obtained a-NRs exhibit robust localized surface plasmon resonance absorption, whose wavelength can be tuned to match three commonly used laser wavelengths (532, 633 and 785 nm) to gain strong EM effect.

Ferrihydrite could fix Pb(II) by precipitation and hydroxyl adsorption, but release Pb(II) with mineral aging. Gallic acid plays an important role in influencing the geochemical behavior of ferrihydrite-Pb, and anoxia is one of the factors influencing the transformation of mineral.

Despite the great progress in molecule photocatalytic solar energy conversion, it is particularly challenging to realize a photocatalytic overall reaction in a non-noble metal complex, which represents a new paradigm for photosynthesis. In this study, a class of novel non-noble metal complexes with head-to-tail geometry were designed and readily synthesized via the coordination of triphenylamine-modified 2,2': 6',2″-terpyridine ligands with Zn. As expected, these complexes exhibited the desired through-space charge-transfer transition, generating both long-lived excited states (on the order of microseconds) and separate redox centers under visible-light irradiation.
