The extreme miniaturization of a cold-atom interferometer accelerometer requires the development of novel technologies and architectures for the interferometer subsystems. Purpose: To provide plan backup resiliency for patients treated on a solitary high definition multileaf collimator (HDMLC) linac by developing a fully integrated Eclipse script, which converts patient plans initially optimized on Millennium-120 (M120) MLC to dosimetrically equivalent leaf motions for delivery on HDMLC. In the event of HDMLC machine downtime, affected patients can be transferred to Millennium-120 units, and their backup plan delivered without delay.

Methods: Write-enabled Eclipse scripting is leveraged to generate HDMLC treatment fields with control points parameterized to mimic apertures of an existing Millennium-120 VMAT plan.

In current debates on emerging technologies for plant breeding in Europe, much attention has been given to the regulatory status of these techniques and their public acceptance. At present, both genetically modified plants with cisgenic approaches-using genes from crossable species-as well as transgenic approaches-using genes from different species-fall under GMO regulation in the EU and both are mandatorily labelled as GMOs. Researchers involved in the early development of cisgenic GM plants convey the message that the potential use and acceptance of cisgenic approaches will be seriously hindered if GMO regulations are not adjusted.

The aim of this study was to describe the reported experiences of Indonesian nursing teachers who participated in a two-year cross-cultural project designed to build pedagogical and professional competence after the tsunami in Aceh province in 2004. Eleven Indonesian teachers who had participated in the competence project answered an open-ended questionnaire in November 2007. The data were analyzed by qualitative content analysis, and the main theme "an empowered nursing teacher" emerged.

The current study investigated differences in allocation of attention between good and poor readers, using dual-task methodology. For 54 undergraduates classified as Good Readers and 54 classified as Poor Readers, based on their Nelson-Denny reading comprehension scores, significant main effects and interactions were found for word frequency, lexicality, and stimulus onset asynchrony, but no significant group differences (either in the form of main effects or interaction effects) were found between Good and Poor Readers. Possible explanations include task demands in the conditions and speed-accuracy trade-offs made by some subjects.

Milk yield and milk acetoacetate (M-acac) were measured weekly for the first 6 weeks of lactation in 5 herds with a ketosis problem. Ketosis treatments and the corresponding ketotest score, were also recorded. The treatment rate was highest 7-16 days after calving.

Factors associated with the incidence of ketosis were studied in 10 herds with a high incidence of the condition (H herds) and 12 herds with a low incidence, (L herds), based on available production data and one-day recordings undertaken once in each herd. Annual milk yield was at the same level in H and L herds. Fat-corrected (4% standard) maximum daily milk yield was significantly lower, and the corresponding % milk fat significantly higher, in the H herds.
