Following the (revised) latent state-trait theory, the present study investigates the within-subject reliability, occasion specificity, common consistency, and construct validity of cognitive control measures in an intensive longitudinal design. These indices were calculated applying dynamic structural equation modeling while accounting for autoregressive effects and trait change. In two studies, participants completed two cognitive control tasks (Stroop and go/no-go) and answered questions about goal pursuit, self-control, executive functions, and situational aspects, multiple times per day.

Background: Amyloidosis represents a rare yet heterogeneous multi-system disorder associated with a grave prognosis and an enormous psycho-emotional strain on patients, relatives, and caregivers. We here present the overall study design and first results of MY-NEED, a research program aiming to systematically assess the needs of patients suffering from amyloidosis, their relatives and health care professionals (HCPs), and develop an amyloidosis-specific care approach.

Introduction: Body surface area (BSA)-based dosing of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) results in marked inter-individual variability in drug levels, whereas determination of plasma 5-FU concentration and area under the curve (AUC) is a more precise dosing method but has not been integrated into clinical routine. We conducted a multicenter, prospective study to study 5-FU AUC distributions and assess clinical factors predicting therapeutic dosing in patients receiving BSA-dosed 5-FU.

Methods: Between June 2017 and January 2018, a total of 434 patients receiving continuous, infusional BSA-dosed 5-FU from 37 sites in Germany were included.

Purpose: The WHO 2016 re-classification of myeloproliferative neoplasms resulted in a separation of essential thrombocythemia (ET) from the pre-fibrotic and fibrotic (overt) phases of primary myelofibrosis (MF). This study reports on a chart review conducted to evaluate the real life approach regarding clinical characteristics, diagnostic assessment, risk stratification and treatment decisions for MPN patients classified as ET or MF after implementation of the WHO 2016 classification.

This contribution contains the raw data used to compare experimental results with thermodynamic calculations using the CALPHAD method, which is related to the research article "The AlMoNbTaTiZr refractory high entropy superalloy: experimental findings and comparison with calculations using the CALPHAD method" [1], and therefore this article can be used as a basis for interpreting the data contained therein. The AlMoNbTaTiZr refractory superalloy was characterized in the cast and annealed condition (1400 °C for 24 h) in order to measure grain size and to identify and measure the size and area fraction of the phases present. The raw data of this article include X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, microstructural characterization by scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), and elemental analysis by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

We used hierarchical growth curve modeling and multilevel mediation to test our hypotheses on two datasets. In Study 1,  = 95 university students ( = 2,482 habit repetitions) built new study habits over a period of 6 weeks with manipulated context stability.

Risk factors such as dysregulation of Insulin-like growth factor (IGF) signaling have been linked to Alzheimer's disease. Here we show that Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 5 (Igfbp5), an inhibitory binding protein for insulin-like growth factor 1 (Igf-1) accumulates in hippocampal pyramidal neurons and in amyloid plaques in brains of Alzheimer patients. We investigated the pathogenic relevance of this finding with transgenic mice overexpressing Igfbp5 in pyramidal neurons of the brain.

During the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, providing safe in-person schooling has been a dynamic process balancing evolving community disease burden, scientific information, and local regulatory requirements with the mandate for education. Considerations include the health risks of SARS-CoV-2 infection and its post-acute sequelae, the impact of remote learning or periods of quarantine on education and well-being of children, and the contribution of schools to viral circulation in the community. The risk for infections that may occur within schools is related to the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infections within the local community.

The eukaryotic ribosome-associated complex (RAC) plays a significant role in de novo protein folding. Its unique interaction with the ribosome, comprising contacts to both ribosomal subunits, suggests a RAC-mediated coordination between translation elongation and co-translational protein folding. Here, we apply electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy combined with site-directed spin labeling (SDSL) to gain deeper insights into a RAC-ribosome contact affecting translational accuracy.
