This prospective study evaluated the imaging performance of a novel pretargeting immunologic PET (immuno-PET) method in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-positive metastatic breast cancer, compared with CT, bone MRI, and F-FDG PET. Twenty-three patients underwent whole-body immuno-PET after injection of 150 MBq of Ga-IMP288, a histamine-succinyl-glycine peptide given after initial targeting of a trivalent anti-CEA, bispecific, antipeptide antibody. The gold standards were histology and imaging follow-up.

Aim: The aims of the present study were to describe treatment patterns and survival outcomes in patients with central nervous system metastases (CNSM) selected among metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients included in a retrospective study from the Epidemiological Strategy and Medical Economics (ESME) MBC cohort.

Methods: Neurological progression-free survival (NPFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Significant contributors to NPFS were determined using a multivariate Cox proportional hazards model.

Within the French phytoplankton monitoring network (REPHY), domoic acid (DA), the toxin responsible for amnesic shellfish poisoning, was first detected in samples collected in 1998. Toxin analysis by the official method [liquid chromatography with diode array detection (LC/DAD)] was performed when Pseudo-nitzschia cell concentration was greater than 1.0 x 10(5) cells/l.

Aromatase activity has been measured in Leydig cells and Sertoli cells from both immature and mature rats. Cytochrome P450 aromatase (P450arom) has been immunolocalized in germ cells of the rodent, bear, and rooster. Our purpose was to investigate expression of and to immunolocalize P450arom in adult rat testicular cells.

Estrogens are the major steroids produced by equine gonads. To identify the cells responsible for estrogen synthesis, an antiserum against purified equine testicular cytochrome P450 aromatase was produced in rabbits. The reactivity and specificity of the antiserum were assessed by ELISA, immunoblot analysis, and immunoneutralization studies.

Lipoprotein metabolism has been investigated in cultured rat Sertoli cells. Cells incubated with low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) or high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) showed a concentration-dependent decrease of sterol synthesis, indicating a net cholesterol delivery to the Sertoli cells. At 50 micrograms/mL, lipoproteins inhibited the incorporation of [14C]acetate into free cholesterol by 83% for the LDL and 47% for the HDL.

Six 8-day-old female calves were treated with a subcutaneous implant of 200 mg testosterone + 20 mg estradiol-17 beta. Thirty-five days following implantation, plasma lipoproteins were compared to those in control calves of the same age. The LDL exhibited a slight change in protein and lipid concentrations and no change in particle size.

1. Plasma lipoproteins from six thoroughbred horses were separated by density gradient ultracentrifugation. For each sample, lipoprotein bands were visualized by means of a prestained plasma control and characterized by electrophoretic, chemical and morphological analysis.
