Background: Medical errors are among the most prevalent and serious adverse events in health care. Lack of situation awareness (SA) is an important factor leading to such errors. SA can be understood using Endsley's three-tier model: level 1 is perception, level 2 is comprehension, and level 3 is projection.

The results showed that the microporous hydrophilic Al-dicarboxylate MIL-160(Al) exhibited one of the best performances. To assess the properties of this material for space-heating applications on a laboratory pilot scale with an open reactor, a new synthetic route involving safer, greener conditions was developed.

Historically, the suggested pharmacotherapy to treat MDD have been monoaminergic-acting antidepressants, such as SSRIs or SNRIs. These drugs can provide relief, but often take weeks to noticeably improve depressive symptoms and are not always effective, leading to a condition known as Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD).

Background: In order to assess the implemented preventive measures of transfusion reactions (TR) and to make a study of residual reactions, we analyzed 516 TR reports from 14 hospitals, for three years since 1996 to 1998.
Methods: Clinical signs were classified according to seven etiologic categories. Systematic anti-erythrocyte and anti-leucocyte detection, as well as bacterial control of the returned bag were performed.
A radio-immunoassay for human T cell growth factor, also called Interleukin-2 (IL-2), has been carried out using a recombinant IL-2 preparation as tracer and a polyclonal rabbit antiserum. The assay is highly specific for IL-2: there is no cross-reaction with either type I and II interferons, epidermal growth factor or tumor necrosis factor alpha. Using the sequential saturation procedure the limit of sensitivity was 0.

Results indicated a dissociation between mitogenic response and secretion of mediators by PBMC under the influence of PHA in both normal controls and in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). While [3H]thymidine incorporation was characterized by a rather bell-shaped curve with increasing concentrations of PHA, IL-2 and TNF-alpha displayed a linear dose-dependent increase.

Unstimulated cultures produced undetectable levels of gamma-IFN and did not incorporate tritiated thymidine. In response to phytohemagglutinin (PHA) 0.

Eight out of 33 (24%) evaluable patients achieved a partial response (PR) and 6 a minor response (MR). Stable disease (SD) was observed in 7 (25%) and progressive disease (P.

In 29 evaluable cases the results were not influenced by the protocol nor by the histology of the tumors (oat cell v non-oat cell) or the clinical stage (limited v extensive). An overall response rate of 58.
