The food packaging industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of our economy, with a large contribution to environmental concerns due to the extensive use of fossil-derived materials. Combining wood-based materials, such as particleboards, with bio-adhesives may offer a great opportunity to develop sustainable packaging solutions with active antioxidant properties. In the present work, a phenolic extract of poplar bark was produced and bio-adhesives were formulated using citric acid as a cross-linker.

They have tremendous potential as therapeutic tools for diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders, but harnessing cell engineering strategies to enhance potency and expand applications is challenging. Recent advancements in stem cell research have made it possible to differentiate human embryonic stem cells and induce pluripotent stem cells into various cell types, including myeloid cells, offering a promising new approach to generate myeloid cells for cell therapy.

Methods: An occlusal splint was digitally designed, and additively manufactured using an LCD printer (Phrozen Sonic 4k, Phrozen) at three orientations relative to the printer building plate: 0, 45, and 70 degrees (n=10). The 3D-printed occlusal splints were digitised using a desktop scanner, resulting in experimental meshes.
Acoustic communication plays a prominent role in various ecological and evolutionary processes involving social interactions. The properties of acoustic signals are thought to be influenced not only by the interaction between signaller and receiver but also by the acoustic characteristics of the environment through which the signal is transmitted. This conjecture forms the core of the so-called "acoustic adaptation hypothesis" (AAH), which posits that vegetation structure affects frequency and temporal parameters of acoustic signals emitted by a signaller as a function of their acoustic degradation properties.

Objective: To evaluate the plant-derived compound lignin (LIG) as a pretreatment of intraradicular dentin in combination with EDTA on push-out bond strength (PBS) and nanoleakage of the glass fiber posts (GFPs) cemented using adhesive resin cement.
Material And Methods: Twenty-eight human incisor roots were prepared for GFP cementation and divided based on dentin pretreatment: (1) CONTROL: no pretreatment, (2) EDTA: 17% EDTA for 3 min, (3) EDTA-LIG: 17% EDTA and 2% lignin for 3 min, (4) EDTA-PAC: 17% EDTA and 2% lignin for 3 min. The GFPs were cemented using the self-adhesive resin cement Multilink Speed.
The topic of sex offenses committed by women has received relatively little attention until recent decades. The scarcity of research in this domain underscores the urgent need for a more comprehensive understanding and effective interventions. Women who committed child sexual abuse (CSA) exhibit a distinct psychological profile compared to men, requiring specific intervention programs.

Purpose: Stereotactic brain biopsies are highly efficient for diagnosing intracerebral pathologies, particularly when surgical resection is infeasible. Fluorescence-based agents such as 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and fluorescein sodium (NaFl) can enhance diagnostic accuracy and safety, improving the visualization of lesional tissues. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate their effect on diagnostic yield and complication rates of brain biopsies.

Methods: Conventional impressions and dental stone models were generated from three patients presenting the aforementioned dental arch conditions. These models were digitised on a desktop scanner, and the resulting mesh was used as reference.
The Ediacaran-Cambrian transition documents a critical stage in the diversification of animals. The global fossil record documents the appearance of cloudinomorphs and other shelled tubular organisms followed by non-biomineralized small carbonaceous fossils and by the highly diversified small shelly fossils between ~ 550 and 530 Ma. Here, we report diverse microfossils in thin sections and hand samples from the Ediacaran Bocaina Formation, Brazil, separated into five descriptive categories: elongate solid structures (ES); elongate filled structures (EF); two types of equidimensional structures (EQ 1 and 2) and elongate hollow structures with coiled ends (CE).

A total of 160 (180-days-old) quails were distributed in a completely randomized design, in a 3x3+1 factorial. The copper sources used were copper sulfate, copper oxide, and nano copper oxide, at levels of 200, 400, and 800 ppm each, totaling nine treatments plus a negative control (with no copper inclusion).

Unlabelled: This article aims to reflect on the images of childhood in videos featuring child YouTubers playing, analyzing the nature of play portrayed in them and its relationship with the child's right to play and be protected against any form of exploitation.
Method: A documentary study of 100 videos shared on YouTube was conducted, subjected to categorical content analysis with an emphasis on the modes of participation of adults and children in dialogues with the platform's languages present in the videos.
Results And Discussion: The boundaries between children's artistic expression and child labor exploitation are becoming increasingly challenging, with legal discussions presenting difficulties in regulation due to the home environment and predominant parental control.
Context: Consumption of the Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) has beneficial effects on cardiometabolic health and aging.
Objective: This systematic review aimed to critically investigate the effect of the MedDiet on glycation markers in healthy or overweight individuals with type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
Data Sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were searched, using the terms "Mediterranean diet" AND "glycation end products, advanced".
Water contamination with toxic metals causes harmful effects on the environment and to human health. Although cucurbiturils have carboxyl groups in their portal that can interact with metal ions, there is a lack of studies about their use as metal adsorbent. This scenario has motivated conduction of the present study, which addresses the use of cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) and cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) for adsorbing Pb and Cr from water samples, in free forms and immobilized in poly(urethane) sponges.
