Background: To investigate the ability of artificial intelligence (AI)-based and semi-quantitative dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), performed within [F]-PSMA-1007 PET/MRI, in differentiating benign from malignant prostate tissues in patients with primary prostate cancer (PC).

Results: A total of seven patients underwent whole-body [F]-PSMA-1007 PET/MRI examinations including a pelvic mpMRI protocol with T2w, diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and DCE image series. The application of X-ray spectro-microscopy to image changes in the chemical state in application areas such as catalysis, environmental science, or biological samples can be limited by factors such as the speed of measurement, the presence of dilute concentrations, radiation damage, and thermal drift during the measurement. We have adapted a reduced-order model approach, known as the discrete empirical interpolation method, which identifies how to optimally subsample the spectroscopic information, accounting for background variations in the signal, to provide an accurate approximation of an equivalent full spectroscopic measurement from the sampled material. This approach uses readily available prior information to guide and significantly reduce the sampling requirements impacting both the total X-ray dose and the acquisition time.

This retrospective, multi-centered study aimed to improve high-quality radiation treatment (RT) planning workflows by training and testing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to perform auto segmentations of organs at risk (OAR) for prostate cancer (PCa) patients, specifically the bladder and rectum. The objective of this project was to develop a clinically applicable and robust artificial intelligence (AI) system to assist radiation oncologists in OAR segmentation. The CNN was trained using manual contours in CT-datasets from diagnostic Ga-PSMA-PET/CTs by a student, then validated (n = 30, PET/CTs) and tested (n = 16, planning CTs).

The present work reports on the preparation of the hitherto unknown title compounds with various synthetic routes described. The initially pursued concept of S-N exchange with varioius 1-substituted 3-methylsulfanyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1 -[1,2,4]triazolo[1,2- ]pyridazines by using nitrogen nucleophiles was only marginally successful. The reactions proceeded slowly and the yields were low, mainly because of the pronounced formation of 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,2- ]pyridazin-1-imines by oxidation of the heterocyclic amines initially formed.

While recent research has shown that supporters and opponents of COVID-19 vaccination have polarizing political attitudes and beliefs, we lack a thorough understanding of how these two groups think about each other. To investigate the feelings and stereotypes between supporters and opponents of COVID-19 vaccination, this study draws on cross-sectional survey data from six European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom), collected between January and March 2022 (n = 6379). Our findings indicate an opinion-based affective polarization between supporters and opponents of COVID-19 vaccination.

Bone marrow metastases-noted in 6% of patients with rhabdomyosarcoma-have been linked to very poor outcomes. Bilateral bone marrow sampling from iliac crests has been the gold standard for bone marrow examination in rhabdomyosarcoma, but sampling errors due to patchy bone marrow involvement may limit its sensitivity. Here, we report the case of a 6-year-old boy with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the skull base and multiple 2-[F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-[F]FDG)-avid bone marrow metastases visualized by positron emission tomography and computed tomography (2-[F]FDG PET/CT).

Facultative heterochromatin controls development and differentiation in many eukaryotes. In metazoans, plants, and many filamentous fungi, facultative heterochromatin is characterized by transcriptional repression and enrichment with nucleosomes that are trimethylated at histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3). While loss of H3K27me3 results in derepression of transcriptional gene silencing in many species, additional up- and downstream layers of regulation are necessary to mediate control of transcription in chromosome regions enriched with H3K27me3.

The synthesis and properties of photoswitchable electron-rich phosphines containing N-heterocyclic imines equipped with a photochromic dithienylethene unit are reported. Heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy and UV/vis studies reveal that the imine substituents undergo reversible electrocyclic ring-closing and ring-opening reactions upon exposure to UV and visible light, respectively. The photoisomerization alters the electron-donating ability of the phosphines by up to ΔTEP = 8 cm.
