Background: We evaluated patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention to assess the predictive value of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) on adverse cardiac outcomes and the effect of antiplatelet therapy on these outcomes.

Methods And Results: Baseline blood samples were available on 1468 CREDO (Clopidogrel for the Reduction of Events During Observation) patients for hs-CRP testing and 1096 patients for PAPP-A testing. The 1-year primary end point was the composite incidence of death, myocardial infarction, or stroke.

Purpose: Laryngeal transplantation has not been widely accepted because of concerns regarding accelerated tumor recurrences in the setting of nonspecific immunosuppression. Allotransplantation could potentially be offered to patients if immunosuppressive therapy could be demonstrated to exert tumor suppressive properties. Preliminary reports have demonstrated an antiproliferative effect of everolimus (RAD), a derivative of the immunosuppressant rapamycin.

In renal clinical trials, both slope-based and time-to-event renal outcomes have been used. These outcomes are typically based on estimates of GFR obtained using creatinine or iothalamate GFR (iGFR). The African American Study of Kidney Disease and Hypertension (AASK) was a trial in 1094 African Americans with hypertensive nephrosclerosis, which examined the effects of two levels of BP control and three antihypertensive regimens.
