Evaluation of Synthetic GnRH-Analog Peforelin with Regard to Oocyte Differentiation and Follicular Development in C57BL/6J Mice.

In biomedical research, ovulation induction is a critical step in the reproductive biology of laboratory animals. This study evaluates the efficacy of peforelin, a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog, in comparison to pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG, synonym: eCG), traditionally used for ovulation induction in mice. PMSG is derived from the serum of pregnant horses, and its production is becoming increasingly problematic due to animal welfare concerns and regulatory restrictions.
