Background: Elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) is a highly effective therapy that improves lung disease in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF), but its effect on glucose tolerance and insulin secretion is unclear.
Methods: PROMISE is a multicenter prospective, observational study of ETI in pwCF ≥12 years and at least one F508del allele. The PROMISE Endocrine sub-study (PROMISE-ENDO) enrolled participants at 10 CF Centers where hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) was collected and 3-hour oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT) conducted to examine glucose tolerance, glucose excursions, insulin secretory rates (deconvolution of C-peptide) and sensitivity (oral minimal model) prior to ETI and 12-18 months (mos) and 24-30 mos following ETI initiation.
Background: Recognizing the limitations of pre-market clinical data, regulatory authorities have embraced total product lifecycle management with post-market surveillance (PMS) data to assess medical device safety and performance. One method of proactive PMS involves the analysis of real-world data (RWD) through retrospective review of electronic health records (EHR). Because EHRs are patient-centered and focused on providing tools that clinicians use to determine care rather than collecting information on individual medical products, the process of transforming RWD into real-world evidence (RWE) can be laborious, particularly for medical devices with broad clinical use and extended clinical follow-up.

This project describes the development, scoring, and preliminary validity of the Personalized CF Medication Questionnaire (PCF-MQ), designed to assess knowledge of prescribed CF medication purpose, administration, and dose and frequency.
Methods: Participants completed the PCF-MQ, the Knowledge of Disease Management (KDM-CF), and the Cystic Fibrosis-Medication Beliefs Questionnaire (CF-MBQ).
Glucagon plays a central role in amino acid (AA) homeostasis. The dog is an established model of glucagon biology, and recently, metabolomic changes in people associated with glucagon infusions have been reported. Glucagon also has effects on the kidney; however, changes in urinary AA concentrations associated with glucagon remain under investigation.

Objectives: To evaluate carbapenem prescribing rates for initial definitive treatment of urinary tract infections and clinical outcomes before and after removing ESBL status labels on antibiotic susceptibility reports.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of adult patients treated for at least 48 h for an ESBL-producing/ceftriaxone-resistant Enterobacterales urinary tract infection. ESBL status reporting ceased in September 2022 for a network of seven community hospitals within the USA.

While some age-related morphological changes are known to occur in rod bipolar cells in the retina, their effects on these cells and on their connection to other cells via ribbon synapses remain elusive.

Objectives: To compare the ability of diets composed of hydrolyzed fish, rice starch, and fish oil without (HF) or with prebiotics, turmeric, and high cobalamin (HF+) against a limited ingredient diet containing mixed nonhydrolyzed antigens and oils (control) to resolve clinical signs and maintain serum cobalamin and folate concentrations in dogs with nonprotein losing CE (non-PLE). To determine the ability of hydrolyzed fish diets to support recovery and remission in dogs with PLE.
Study Objectives: To present development considerations for online sleep diary systems that result in robust, interpretable, and reliable data; furthermore, to describe data management procedures to address common data entry errors that occur despite those considerations.
Methods: The online sleep diary capture component of the Sleep Healthy Using the Internet (SHUTi) intervention has been designed to promote data integrity. Features include diary entry restrictions to limit retrospective bias, reminder prompts and data visualizations to support user engagement, and data validation checks to reduce data entry errors.
Workshop '97 data are employed for seabed classification and source range estimation. The data are acoustic fields computed at vertically separated receivers for various ranges and different environments. Gaussian processes are applied for denoising the data and predicting the field at virtual receivers, sampling the water column densely within the array aperture.

Background: To avoid the low engagement and limited efficacy of digital behavioral health interventions, robust human-centered design (HCD) processes are needed.
Objective: The primary objective of this study was to describe a flexible, step-by-step HCD process to develop digital behavioral health interventions by illustrating iSIPsmarter as an example. iSIPsmarter is a digital intervention for reducing the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) that comprises 6 internet-based cores metered out over time to deliver the program content, an integrated SMS text message strategy to engage users in reporting SSB behaviors, and an electronic cellular-enabled scale for in-home weighing.
