There is strong interest among policymakers to adjust for area-level deprivation when making payments to providers because such areas have traditionally been underserved. The Medicare Accountable Care Organization Realizing Equity, Access, and Community Health (ACO REACH) model provides higher payments to ACOs serving areas with greater deprivation. Area Deprivation Index (ADI) is the primary component to measure deprivation for ACO REACH.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 had a sudden and substantial impact on health care utilization for most, if not all, individuals. We study the impact the pandemic had on the population insured in the individual and small group markets under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010, using administrative claims data from January 2019 through December 2021. Our results demonstrated how health care utilization differed between the acute phase (i.

Intuitive eating is defined as being connected to internal hunger, satiety, and appetitive cues and flexibly using these cues to determine when, what, and how much to eat. The Intuitive Eating Scale-2 (IES-2) is a widely used measure of facets of intuitive eating. However, the scale has shown unstable factor structure in several validation studies and there is a lack of studies investigating the measurement invariance of the IES-2 beyond sex.

Purpose: To evaluate compulsive exercise, researchers often rely on the widely used Compulsive Exercise Test (CET). However, the measure has shown unstable factor structure in several validation studies and is not available in Portuguese for use in Brazil. We aimed to describe the translation and cultural adaptation of the CET to Brazilian Portuguese, to test several factor structures among Brazilian and US samples of men and women, to test measurement invariance across countries, and to evaluate its internal consistency.

Accurate segregation of homologous chromosomes during meiosis depends on both the presence and the regulated placement of crossovers (COs). The centromere effect, or CO exclusion in pericentromeric regions of the chromosome, is a meiotic CO patterning phenomenon that helps prevent nondisjunction, thereby protecting against chromosomal disorders and other meiotic defects. Despite being identified nearly a century ago, the mechanisms behind this fundamental cellular process remain unknown, with most studies of the Drosophila centromere effect focusing on local influences of the centromere and pericentric heterochromatin.

Background: Anxiety and eating disorders (EDs) are rising at alarming rates. These mental health disorders are often comorbid, yet the factors associated with their comorbidity are not well understood. The present study examined a theoretical model of the pathways and relative associations of anxiety sensitivity (AS) with different dimensions of ED risk, controlling for generalized anxiety.

The simulation view of language comprehension holds that lexical-semantic access prompts the re-enactment of sensorimotor experiences that regularly accompany word use. For the colour domain, this suggests that reading about a stop sign reactivates experiences involving the perception of the stop sign and hence experiences involving the colour red. However, it is still not clear what circumstances would limit reactivation of colour experiences during comprehension, if the activation takes place.

Unlabelled: Return to sport following a corticosteroid injection is a complex decision. Multiple considerations should be taken into account, including steroid dose and formulation, involvement of the affected joint in the activity, and intensity of the activity. Research investigating the adverse effects of corticosteroid injections with early initiation of high-intensity activity is limited and has produced mixed results.

Circulating miR-371a-3p has excellent performance in the detection of viable (non-teratoma) GCT pre-orchiectomy; however, its ability to detect occult disease is understudied. To refine the serum miR-371a-3p assay in the minimal residual disease setting we compared performance of raw (Cq) and normalized (∆Cq, RQ) values from prior assays, and validated interlaboratory concordance by aliquot swapping. Revised assay performance was determined in a cohort of 32 patients suspected of occult retroperitoneal disease.
