The Spike of SARS-CoV-2 recognizes a transmembrane protease, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), on host cells to initiate infection. Soluble derivatives of ACE2, in which Spike affinity is enhanced and the protein is fused to Fc of an immunoglobulin, are potent decoy receptors that reduce disease in animal models of COVID-19. Mutations were introduced into an ACE2 decoy receptor, including adding custom N-glycosylation sites and a cavity-filling substitution together with Fc modifications, which increased the decoy's catalytic activity and provided small to moderate enhancements of pharmacokinetics following intravenous and subcutaneous administration in humanized FcRn mice.

Luteolin is a susceptive anticancer flavonoid in many crops and rare medicinal plants that can be affected by exposure to TiONPs. Managing COVID-19 transmission in long-term care: A qualitative study of high performing facilities.

Ever since its emergence, COVID-19 has posed a serious threat to members of the population who are older and have underlying health conditions, with those residing in Long-Term Care Facilities being particularly susceptible. The purpose of this study was to explore initiatives implemented by Long-Term Care Facilities which had lower COVID-19 transmission compared to their regional counterparts. Of the facilities interviewed, the majority implemented a routine testing schedule for residents utilizing both PCR and Rapid Antigen nasal tests, while also separately housing residents who may be at an increased risk.

Background: The current study identifies predictors and moderators of substance use outcomes for 111 adolescents with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders who participated in a randomized controlled trial that compared the effectiveness of two home-based treatments: an integrated cognitive behavioral therapy (I-CBT) protocol, in which masters-level clinic staff received intensive training and ongoing supervision in the use of this protocol versus a treatment-as-usual (TAU) comparison condition in which therapists received a continuing education-style CBT workshop in the same protocol.

Method: The study conducted exploratory predictor and moderator analyses of marijuana and heavy alcohol use outcomes using candidate variables across four domains of psychological characteristics: adolescent substance use, adolescent psychiatric symptoms, parent, and family.
