Acute Retinal Necrosis from Reactivation of Varicella Zoster Virus following BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccination.

Purpose: To report a case of acute retinal necrosis (ARN) due to varicella zoster virus (VZV) after COVID-19 vaccine administration.

Design/methods: Observational case report.

Result: A 62-year-old immunocompetent African American male presented with left eye redness, decreased vision, and floaters after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine seven days prior.

Forehead galeal pericranial flap for single-staged total upper eyelid reconstruction in sebaceous gland carcinoma excision.

Purpose: To present a successful case of single-staged total upper eyelid reconstruction after sebaceous gland carcinoma excision by using forehead galeal pericranial flap.

Observations: An 80-year-old female with a progressively enlarged left upper eyelid mass presented with ocular irritation, blurred vision, and gritty sensation despite topical antibiotics treatment. This multinodular mass involved the left total upper eyelid, compromised corneal surface integrity, and caused complete ptosis.
