Boster, Kotowski, Andrews, and Serota (2011 ) proposed that superdiffusers are well connected, persuasive, and a maven in a content area. They proposed that superdiffusers, if recruited, could promote the adoption of health practices. In this article a model of this process is presented, and an intervention designed to test the efficacy of this influence strategy is introduced.

Two studies were designed to assess college women's reactions to and perceptions of potential campaign advertising concepts derived from preproduction formative research to increase folic acid consumption through the use of a daily multivitamin. Study one assessed draft advertising concepts in eight focus groups (N = 71) composed of college-enrolled women in four cities geographically dispersed across the United States.

This 12-lesson curriculum was evaluated using a pretest-posttest control group design. Participants were 293 seventh-grade boys and girls enrolled in two public junior high schools in a moderate size Midwestern city.
